Resale of Bought PC

In November 2011, I bought a Desktop PC from PC Specialist (with the specifications below) to play video games which my former computer couldn't handle but I have a new computer now and no longer want to play games (and have a computer which suits my current needs) and so am hoping to sell my PC, I was wondering if I should sell it and if so what would be a reasonable price. I won't be using it and I don't know if I should just leave it gathering dust and only use it several times a year or if it is worth selling to give me a bit of money. I haven't yet decided how I will sell it, maybe to a friend or using an online platform such as ebuyer or ebay but I don't think that is relevant to this site so I'm not seeking help about that. Before selling it, do you recommend that I remove dust from it and also wipe hard drive of senstive data and software which I wouldn't have the right to resell? Its original cost was about £650. I hope to hear from you and thank you in advance for whatever help you may provide.

I would certainly wipe the hard drive, keep in mind though it could still be possible for someone to recover the data, but
I don't think many people would bother trying to do that.

To do a more thorough clean you can use ccleaner by piriform, it can do enhanced erases with up to 8 passes or so.

Or better still wipe the whole drive with something like DBAN.

As for what to do with it - if you have no use for it I would probably try to sell it on eBay or similar. You could give it a clean before so it looks better in the photos but otherwise I can't think of anything else that you haven't mentioned.
