Miscellaneous FREE CRYSIS 3 & FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON with AMD HD 7900 Series GPUs!

My build arrived last friday and I thought I would give myself a bit of time to get to know it before doing a review. I ordered on the 19th of April and the computer would have arrived on the 9th rather than the 10th had I been able to be home to sign for it. Very impressed with the delivery service, it was easy to change date and they gave you a one hour slot on the day of delivery, no waiting around all day hoping and praying. My inital impression of the pc was 'wow this is big'. Not a complaint by the way I like it, but something for people looking at this case to consider. The case has a quality look about it without appearing too flash, no needless LEDs. I opened the case up to remove the inflatable foam packaging (great idea) and found everything appeared to have arrived in good order, the inside looks great and I am glad I chose this motherboard, already dreaming of adding a second 7950. Must say they have done a great job with the cables too.
Having booting the machine up I have to say it runs spectacularly fast, as you would expect from an ssd. One thing I would say about that is if you are torn between 128gb and a bigger option I really would recommend the bigger option if you plan to have any games installed on it, they are pretty big these days and I am already pretty concerned about managing space. The SSD was also set to a scheduled defragment but that was easily remedied.
Gaming wise I havent had masses of time to play yet however I did test it out with a few games of crysis 3 which ran just fine on the maximum settings; and looks amazing, and also metro 2033 which also ran perfectly. The machine runs cool; everything around 30 degrees (at stock) when idle. My GPU after metro 2033 was at around 50 degrees and my cpu was hitting just over that during a 15 minute prime 95 test, very happy with that. The machine is relatively quiet though it does let out an audible hum, its not at all intrusive though and doesnt make leaving it at night whilst trying to sleep a problem at all. Unlike my old pc which had began to sound like a jet was taking off in my room.

Only gripe is that I haven't received the copy of far cry blood dragon, not sure if they are out of stock (would have been nice to have been told if thats the case) or it was simply forgotten. Delivery does take a long time, which can be frustrating but you are of course made fully aware of this before purchasing. It is certainly worth the wait.

All in all I am delighted with my purchase, would use PC Specialist again and will be recommending them to friends. I shall try and upload a picture or two shortly.

Good review mate. Perhaps check the flyers that came in your welcome pack alongside the manuals. My brothers games came in the form of an AMD card with a code on it.

If you register your Crysis 3, AMD should send you the Blood Dragon code seperately. Strange way to do it but thats the way they have!
