Guys I need help . Ive been waiting for the RTX 3080 for while now ,and since ive got no ETA ,I 've been thinking on amending my order to the RTX 3090 which it says that its in stock or at least you dont need to pre-order for it. Does anyone know if the 3090 is actually in stock ? I dont want to be in the same situation and just wait for it again ...

I agree with this totally.
I would even go one step further and say it would be nice to have an up to date stock levels page of the pre-order components (even if only a weekly update):
  • Number of orders waiting for each component - This would give us an idea of the demand.
  • Date PCS last received the component and how many - This would put us at ease that there is at least some movement.
  • ETA (date + quantity) of the next batch of components.
I realise the last point may not be possible to give accurately, but surely the first 2 points would be something that could be done, and would put a lot of people at ease rather than being left in the dark, and having to take time away from the support staff asking these types of questions.
Disagree. You underestimate the lengths people will go to acquire some of the individual hardware components and having advanced knowledge of when/where to get these components will see more legitimate customers end up behind large queues from people loading builds for resale/scalping. It's in a lot of ways better to keep stock information somewhat guarded to prevent this.

I’m 62 days in preproduction now, I understand the delays and that it’s not PC Specialists fault, I do agree that an automated email every now and then would just put my mind at easy. I don’t need to know my queue position, maybe some more clarity on if stock has arrived etc.

Unfortunately everyone is in the same position, I’ve looked at swapping to a comparative GPU but again, without knowing stocking levels for them cards or how long their queues are, I think I’m best just sucking it up and waiting until they eventually get hold of my 3080.

We also don't know whether the contracts that PCS have with their suppliers preclude them publishing this information - especially now where multiple companies are competing to get stock from the same suppliers.

Communication on what may I ask?

And for the folk waiting for the STRIX 3080, be aware that we only received a small batch of under 100 cards, nearly 500 orders still remain for this card.
Hi Ghosthud,

Could you please specify if you are referring to receiving 100 units overall or quite recently ?

Thank you for all your info.

I’m of the opinion that I would rather not receive an email saying words to the affects that they have no information to tell me.

However I can see and understand that some want/need that to feel reassured about their orders, so maybe a blog post/email stating that they’d received a rough number of X (so say they’re received 128 3080s they could say around 100 3080s) obviously this depends on what agreements they have in place with their suppliers regarding the posting of that information, possibly accompanied with these have been allocated to orders within this time frame, example being 01/10/20 - 02/10/20) with 0 stock remaining. Once we have received more stock we will update this post.

Don’t know how doable this would be, but only a suggestion to ease those that would like updates.

After removing my "customer" head and replacing it with what once was my "customer service" head.

I can admittedly say that I was and have been completely wrong with how i have approached the situation with waiting for my PC build to come to fruition.

what i am failing very hard at understanding is that PCS are a company that build these machines and distribute to the wider audiences.

what i haven't understood fully until sitting and thinking about it is there are hundreds, thousands of requests being piled in and PCS have no stock... when a clump of 100 GPU's comes in, that is essentially PCS then building, testing, inspecting and distributing 100 units in days... the demand that is placed on them must be astronomical.

I will be sitting away in the shadows waiting patiently for my build to arrive and no longer sitting prodding away on forums wondering why i haven't got my computer.

From what I have gathered average waits are 55-70 WORKING days for any PC with a 3080 GPU ordered around Nov 2020, that is 3+Months of waiting, if you are not prepared to wait this long, simply do not order the PC with the GPU stated above, or build it yourself.

A heartfelt apology to the PCS team and the support moderators on this forum for my past behavior and i'd like to thank all of the staff and moderators on this forum board for their continued support.

Yeah and most people seem to forget that they are also building machines for folk who aren't interested in these niche parts

Nah would not work, there is an assumption that anyone other than the manufacturer knows about stock availability.

in an ideal world, stock alerts would trigger and supply chain would answer with stock replenishment at xx days etc.

The fact the not a single company other than the manufacturers know when stock is available blow this sort of thinking apart.

Also as has been said, PCS are looking at all areas to get hold of cards, this means last minute notification.

I would actually not be surprised (based on personal experience in manufacturing) that some individuals get told out of the blue, a card has been allocated for their order and it is in build, even though last communication may have been zero stock for 2 weeks.

Lol its still a lot for what you get compared to a 3080 IMO im fed up with waiting and was sat on live chat about to upgrade before being talked out of it😐
I’ve even considered swapping to a 5700XT just so I can get the pc now and then upgrading it later in the year to a 3080/3080ti 😂 ive also talked my self out of this 😂

In other news. I failed my patience check. And dealt a critical blow to my wallet with a 3090 :( But seeing as how everything else in life so far for me has been a disaster, I think I can treat myself.

Just know that my icon is how I'm looking at myself in the mirror.
Please Let me know if you get any changes in the processing time , as I am also considering on giving up my left kidney and changing from the 3080 to 3090

Once I know more I’ll post on here. I’m not holding out much hope on it being this month. I’ve been searching the internet to see if I can get hold of one for self install also 🤣
