Gear I have now:

A (crud) i5 laptop with GT330 & 3 consoles.

Creative HS800 Fatal1ty Gaming Headset.
(That's why I want the sound card the pannel is like astros)
Razer Anansi MMO Gaming Keyboard.
Razer RZ07-00490100-R3M1 Nostromo Expert Keypad.
And a Naga Epic oh and a Onza too (used mostly for the 360 GOW on PC too).

My budget will go to £3,500 so bulldozer should not reach upto that? The thing is I am inpatient now. Will this blow BF3 out of the warter & keep me in good stead for 2-3 years?

Or will I have to fork out extra for a Intel & Nvidia setup?

wowzers.

Looks like a rather nice build, eat anything for breakfast for a good few years. A £1000 non-OC rig will blow BF3 out of the water and be good for 2-3 years, so yours will be good way beyond that!

No clue about current AMD set ups tbh, and less so about Bulldozer, so when some AMD guys wake up I am sure they can give their views.

I cant imagine a Bulldozer setup would add another grand though...but who knows :D

Yeah, to be honest I've not heard much of the AMD Bulldozer platform (admittedly I haven't researched it either) but I'm sure it won't add an extra £1k to your PC. It's hard for us to say whether to wait or not, AMD are sure it'll be the next big thing but that then may be short lived when Intel launch Ivybridge.

You could keep waiting for the next big launch, but when that comes, there will always be another around the corner. One day, you'll have to bite the bullet and go for it!

I've not looked up anything much about it except for the release date. Too much speculation at the moment for my liking.

Of course we won't know anything for sure until it arrives but if it added mega money to your budget I'd be very suprised to say the least.

AMD provide bang for buck.

Intel deliver premium performance with a price tag to match.

It's not always that clear cut mind and I hope Bulldozer manages to pull off both.

Truth, AMD wont release something with a huge price tag. Thats not their market.

If they do, well, might as well buy an Intel.

As a side note to say somethign different to everyone else.

Raid SSD is not really required the speed wont be much different as they are fast enough already, and anything you write will go to both drives so you will be killing two expensive SSD instead of one.

I will order on the 27th (pay day) & knock off £750 per month off my credit card til I pay it off.
Does a bigfoot card allow you to cap you download low (5mb) for games, whlie keeping your upload high (10mb)?

Apparently the first gen of Bulldozer will only just be up to scratch with a 2600k (from leaked benchmarks), and that would be the top end bulldozer. No info on second gen yet (that i've found) but it's set to release late October... imo with that budget you should just get an amazing Intel PC with 2600k and GTX590 or something :)

The bigfoot simply prioritises the gaming packets on your network.

Just as easily done with a reg edit. So save the £70
