Hi,
I've just saved a quote and just want some advice as to whether its going to be ok for Racing sim's like iRacing, Netkar Pro, Simbin game's etc........
I'm wanting to run 3 screen eyefinity too! How does a two card setup work with eyefinity?
I'm only just getting back into PC gaming after years away.
Also when I speck up the RAM to 8GB it recommends a 1200W PSU, would I get away with keeping the 1000W PSU?

Any advice would be helpfull ;)

Wow charming...........:p

Well i did not respond to this because i do not know anything about eyefinity setups so thought would leave it for somebody that does but in answer to your other questions you will need a 1200W PSU you are too near the border line for power requirements, what is your budget maybe somebody will sort a better spec for you.

*Edit yes it will play your racing games

Looking at the setup makes your hard disk looks OTT to me lol but you may wana phone PCS in the morning to ask but you may want to grab the 1200 as its alot more reliable than the 1000w psu since the 1200w psu is gold certified :) good to be on the safe side. A single 6970 will have no problems with 3 monitors. gona cost you quite alot of candies to be splashing a 3 monitor setup. Well you will get a nice experience in the end.

@ Fear, Sorry I was a bit off in my last post....I just thought after 3 days and over 50 views I would have had a reply lol
My budget is around the £1500 mark, I may drop the 2nd graphics card opt for the 1200w PSU and up the ram to 8GB, then for future upgrade I could buy the 2nd graphics card, Does this sound a safer bet?

@Teaz, Yeah I'm looking at the DELL 2209WA monitor, gonna cost me around £500 for the three screens (eBay)
500GB will probably be fine but I just thought what the hell and selected the 1TB.

Thanks for your input guy's ;)

Regards

Scott.

well for such a rig i was thinking you could consider to op for an ssd which would bang up the performence an you can leave the rest of the talking to the second drive :)

adding to fears comment. your better off with the single 6970 as it will have no problems running a setup with 3 monitors an invest that money for an ssd perhaps then in future u can op for the second gpu :)

Right I've re-hashed my quote and upgraded a few things and taken out the 2nd graphics card, reduced the HD down to 640gb.
Its still coming to around the £1500 mark so still in budget, And if I need to I can upgrade to 2nd GFX card having the 1200w PSU :)

alot better. Not sure if you need sound card or not as the onboard sound is really good. unless you have an ear for sound then you could stick with the sound card.

What are the main advantages of having an SSD? What size do you recommend?

Speed. Fast boot ups, loadings, saves alot of time, does things with speed. the better the read, the faster it opens or loads. If writing data on there then the better the write faster it will be. good sizes for alot of people are usually 120gb-160gb

Right back from my film :D now thats looking much better just a couple of questions for you scohol do you really need the 6 core processor i am only getting use out of 3 cores at most for games, i will have a look at the amd processors in a moment and also you won't really need the water cooling you can keep it but i will see if the titan fenrir can be used on that spec.

Agree with Teaz, don't think you'll need much bigger than a 120gb SSD. I didn't even bother with one on my new build. Got spare space tho...

Sure you'll have fun with it anyway.

I agree with the SSD but surely for an extra £48 I may as well opt for the 6 core as this will future proof me for a little longer, also the water cooler is only an extra £10.
I'm just wanting to speck it as high as I can afford. When money allows or if games require it I'll get the 2nd GFX card.
Thanks for all your input lads ;) I;m going to be ordering it in the next week or so and I'll let you know how I get on :)
Has anyone got any thoughts on the DELL 2209wa IPS monitor? I'm looking at picking 3 up from ebay at £165 a piece (Manufaturer refurbished) Can anyone recommend a good 22" gaming monitor?
Regards
Scott.

For £50, if you have the money, I would always throw it at the CPU. 6 core or otherwise but there is no point if you're not going to use it.

Re. the monitor, not going to recommend any particular store if product not for sale on here - however, LG have quite a good range at reasonable prices with very good "bang for buck" specs.
