Spec suggestions please...

Hi there...

In a couple of months time im looking at purchasing a new PC to replace my 6 year old war horse which has served me well. At present I mainly use my PC to play World of Warcraft - other than this its just general use.

With this new PC I would like to continue playing World of Warcraft, but I would also like to work on Music Production - nothing extremely heavy.

My question is quite simply, does anyone have any spec suggestions for my new PC that could run World of Warcraft (At present running at less than 25fps, would like to get to at least twice that) and could also be used to run, for example, Fruityloops without any problems?

In terms of budget, im not really sure but I do know I want something decent that will last me a few years so lets go with £600... at least then I could get a basic idea.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
I am afraid I am not aware of what the requirements are for music production. You may want to check the system requirements for the program you wish to use but I would assume you need a soundcard and more memory ram. The spec I posted should allow you to play WoW without any issues.

Ok just had a look on the Fruity Loops website and they quoted the below requirements, minimum...

2Ghz Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 64 (or later) compatible CPU with full SSE2 support. The faster your CPU and more cores it has the more you will be able to do simultaneously.
32 or 64 Bit versions of Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, XP (with service pack 3)(or) Intel Mac with Boot Camp / Windows.
Running XP (with service pack 3), Vista or Windows 7 (in 32 or 64 Bit) 1 Gb or more RAM recommended,1 Gb free disk space.
Soundcard with DirectSound drivers. ASIO/ASIO2 compatible required for audio recording (FL Studio installs with generic ASIO4ALL drivers)

Would your spec suggestion cover this?

For music production you really need at least an ASIO compatible dedicated sound card
music recording/production can be quite CPU intensive,so you should get the best one you can afford.RAM is also important, the more the better of course.
Hard drive speed and plenty of space would also be a factor.
