Transferring to SSD

If I transfer my OS to an SSD, does it need to be a larger hard drive, or just have more space on the new one to transfer it? Also, if I transfer it will it have all my settings still?

To transfer the system to a smaller drive,as I assume the SSD will be,you would need something like Acronis,or Paragon Migrate OS to SSD,as windows own back up can't transfer the system to a smaller drive.Some SSD's come supplied with transfer software.If you want to transfer a full image of your system the SSD would of course need to be large enough to take it.
