Ultranote 15.4"

Ordered an ultranote with the specs in my signature on the 12th March, Glen from DPD dropped it off today about 9.15

They say the best things come in small packages, this one was fairly large...

I had also ordered a new monitor for my desktop which was also inside the same box.

First impressions of the laptop after taking out of the box were that it's really light, and it's tiny - in a good way, nice and thin with not a lot of wasted space around the outside of the screen. Then I realized the battery wasn't in (duh), so added that - Still really light.
The brushed aluminium appearance is actually plastic which is a bit of a shame but not an issue.
I do like how there isn't a big brand name on the case.

Opened the laptop up, inside is a full keyboard with a number pad as well, as a result the keyboard is off centre, something that will take a bit of getting used, the touch pad is also off to the left instead of central. While not really neccessary the numpad is quite a nice touch.

Turned it on, wow it's quiet - onboard graphics + SSD = lack of noisy fans and moving parts.
Installed the drivers, CD drive is also quiet.

It's quick too - quicker to turn on than my desktop (also in signature).

I bought the laptop for general use, facebook, emails, skype, occasional Football Manager if I'm on the move, etc. I also wanted it to be portable as I plan to take it with me next year when I will be going away. It will be perfect for doing all of those things.

Compared to a lot of other ultrabooks mine was very cheap - it seems that most pre-built ultrabooks have a premium on the price just for the name.

This is my second computer from PC Specialist in about a year after I was recommended by a friend/colleague. Both times I have been really pleased with the service, the first time with my desktop I must have been an absolute nightmare of a customer constantly making changes to my order (I think it raised in value from about £600 to ~£1300 one or two components at a time..).
This time I was delighted to get an email after 6 working days saying that my order had been dispatched. I also received a text to say that I would be getting more delivery the next day, then this morning I got a text from DPD saying to expect my delivery between 9.06 and 10.06.

The people in the forums are also excellent at offering advice so thanks to all of you as well :)

Would definitely recommend PCS, and am currently trying to persuade the boss to upgrade our horrible computers at work.
