Upgrading my GPU

At the moment I have an AMD 6770 oc 1gb which has served me quite well, but some of the newer games are gong to start to strain it so I'm thinking about getting an upgrade, looking at my machine about the best I can put in there without upgrading the PSU (I don't want to touch that for at least another year and I only have £100 spare for the foreseeable future) would be the R7 260X.

Does anyone know how much of an upgrade that would be from the 6770?

I heard that the R7 250X was basically an updated 7770 and I know that there's very little point upgrading between the 6770 and 7770, so I'm just wondering how much better the R7 260X is in comparison, if it's only a little better than the 250X it might not be worth the upgrade.

Thanks that helps a little. It only gives a rough idea though because the 6770 i have is neither of the two listed as it is the ASUS one with a built in overclock, i'll have to check when I'm home but I'm sure it clocks at 1100 which is the same as the R7 260X which is why i was wandering whether it was worth upgrading.
