Wait times (I am amazed at how fast pc specialist are)

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has had this before, literally ordered the pc on Friday and this morning 4 days later it is already in building stage? I know a lot of people have had waits of pre-production going into the 2-week mark but it appears I have gone through process which I am very pleased with as usually this build phase is around 3 days from receiving the pc all in a week not paying any extra postage.

A little update as I was typing i just received another email 1 hour after my pc entered build stage and now the same day my pc is in testing … Now I am speechless really great wait / build times I am amazed here as the build phase is usually 1-3 days and it has been 1 hour since by build phase email.

So far so good PC Specialist , amazing company !

Mine has gone into build very quickly as well, ordered it on Saturday, went into build yesterday, though not got the 'in testing' notification yet.
The building of the PC's doesn't normally take very long to be honest.

Edit: haha, and copying you, as I was typing this message, mine went into testing as well.
Edit 2: I think the notifications actually represent when the stage was done rather than when it started - but I might be wrong.

The lead times this week actually seem to be a week so i think we got lucky with when we ordered our PC's. I also think its a similar thing where the notification pops up after the stage has been completed so testing is 1-2 days. If we are lucky we amy have our PC's by the weekend !

When its at this stage of the process by this time of the week I would be surprised it we didn't get them by the weekend - the only thing really likely to delay it is if QC fails (or DPD screw up).

Similar situation for me. For some reason I couldn't get any sort of fast tracking. Maybe Dundee seems like the end of the world? Bought PC over the weekend, was in processing Monday, then went into building today. I'd be surprised if I got it by the end of the week as I wasn't expecting it so soon. Must not be a lot of people buying PCs in the summer :D

Hehe i hope so ! Don't suppose as a moderator you have advised anyone on the post process from dpd. As i work through the week 9-5 i will most likely miss the delivery you know if they allow pickups from the DPD warehouse ?

I'm actually a volunteer mod so don't work for PCS, but I know DPD will post a card through your door if you're not in to collect it, and looking at their site it looks like you can reorganise the day, redirect it to one of their pickup points or collect it yourself (with a few bits of ID by the looks of things - you should check what they will accept): https://www.dpd.co.uk/content/how-can-we-help/help.jsp
Also note that if its a desktop the box will be rather large.

Luckily I can work from home when it's necessary for deliveries and such.

Edit: typos

We love you Ukraine
Also, you can download the dpd app, and in there you can specify a delivery time or get it delivered to a local post office if you’re not in, it’s a superb app. Deliveries automatically pop up in it, you don’t have to search for them.

And now some of us are still desperately willing the status to move on :) - yes I'm getting very impatient as I'm getting older :)

It did go into testing and QC yesterday, but the status still said 'In Testing' before lunch but now when I got back from lunch it says:
13705

See, I did manage to 'will' it to the next status :) (um, maybe).
QC does take a while as they do a whole bunch of automated tests including booting a number of times, reads, writes, and other stuff which can take about a day.

Mines went into testing yesterday afternoon and is still in testing, but I assume they do some overnight testing? Hopefully it moves onto QC and awaiting dispatch!

Oh WOW you over took me then :p Still in testing for me just over a day. I think it is system dependant on how long testing takes buy you managed to go through testing and quality control in a day which is lucky !! I guess you should receive yours by Friday brotha !

Hi there,

our tests take roughly about 13 hours and are run overnight most of the times. Once the tests are done and your system has been double-checked by a second technician, it will go from "in testing" to "ready for dispatch". That status though is just for a few minutes, as it literally means the system is brought from the testing area to the dispatch area. If a system is within testing for 24h or longer, it makes sense to ring us up, as we can check with the technician personally to see what the hold up is. They are basically next door to the call centre ;)

Well I think our two systems have been overtaking each other at numerous points in the process, you ordered on Friday, I ordered on Saturday, mine went into build on Monday, yours did on Tuesday, yours then went into test on Tuesday, followed by mine a short time later, mine has come out out of QC and testing at lunchtime today, hopefully yours will follow soon. I've now got the DPD tracking link (though it never shows anything til much later in the day - ie . when it's at the DPD depot)
So I'm expecting delivery tomorrow, if yours finishes QC successfully before the cutoff time (no, I'm not sure when said cutoff time is) yours could be dispatched today as well (and its a next day delivery service - unless you're not in the UK mainland)
