Hi guys,
So my new WD Caviar Black has arrived without a SATA cable
Anyway, I currently have 3 things plugged into (numbered) SATA ports 1, 2 and 3 on my ASUS motherboard as below:
1. Current WD Green HDD
2. DVD drive
3. Front panel eSATA connection
That leaves me with SATA ports 4, 5 & 6 empty.
My WD Black is going to be installed as my primary drive and the WD Green will be for backups.
1) Does it matter which SATA port I connect my WD Black to?
2) Can it go into 4, 5 or 6, or am I better off plugging it in to SATA 1 and plugging the secondary drive into SATA 4, 5 or 6?
Thanks for any replies and please move on to my "Installing a HDD thread"
