If you're buying from pcspecialiast, then intel 520 series would be the best choice. But if you are buying from somewhere else crucial m4 and samsung 830 are also worth considering.
I would recommend getting at least a 120gb ssd, as 60-64 gig will get filled up very quickly.

Well you would be just better off with buying a single 240gb ssd drive as you will not really notice difference in speeds if run them in raid.

why would you want to run them in raid? two would cost a fortune, would you see any benefit from doing so?

Do you not think I would see a big difference in speed if I run a raid set up

well ssd's are already fast anyway! i've got a mid range 60gb ssd (its half the speed of the hyper x) and its still fast!

If I were you I'd get one 120gb ssd, then keep the rest of the money for something else, or upgrade something else. Not that ya rig needs upgrading though.

Thanks for the advise

If I was to rUn just one SSd say at least 120gb what would be the best way to put it in, e.g Sara cable???

Also I want to do a fresh install of windows 7, can I wipe my current hd and then plug in SSd and install as normal?

Thanks again

There are Different types of SSD

EG: Sata 2 and Sata 3. Depending which one you buy, you will need the appropriate cable (They look exactly the same but usually say what speed they are printed on them) along with it which it would most likely come with the SSD or if buying a computer with one already in then the correct cables will be provided.

The difference is speeds and price.

If you get a new SSD, just remove the old HDD. Put in the SSD, put in the WIN7 install cd and boot to the cd. Install windows as normal. Once windows is installed plug back in other HDD. They can then be formatted within windows or do as you like.

Take out the existing OS hard drive,Install SSD then install Windows on the SSD,
reinstall the original HDD, start computer,It should automatically boot to the SSD drive, go to "computer" right click original HDD & select format, assuming you have saved all the data you want from it.
This will save any problems with boot & system reserved partition .
EDIT: Too slow.:sleep1:
