Windows 7 question

Hi there, I decided to post a new thread as I have a problem with my laptop that I cant cope with. I wanted to restore my laptop settings to default through System Restore Manager (Alt+F10 on boot) I used to do it many times so I did not expect any problems to occur, though it asks me for empowering technology password. I have no idea where that password could be, I checked in all documents I got but couldnt find anything.
I bought my deskopt computer in PC Specialist like 2 months ago including Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit inc DVD & Licence. And thats where my question comes up. Would the system stay legall if I would install it on both computers? If yes whats the limit with same system? And another question. I got the vista serial on the back of the laptop, so If i would just download a copy of vista from the internet and then type in the orginal key would it be legall or not?

Laptop type is Acer Aspire 7720G

Thanks in advance,
Masqurin

In answer to your 2nd question, no, as, the key is OEM and locked to your laptop. What i'd suggest (if the laptop sitll boots into Windows) is to use the Recovery disc maker that came with your laptop to BURN recovery discs for your system, instead of using the recovery partition on your computer.

A snippit from the support section for your laptop:

DID THIS FIX THE PROBLEM?

If the option to reinstall using the ALT + F10 keys is not available or fails, reinstallation of the operating system can be done using Acer Recovery Media (CDs or DVDs). In order to recover the system using Acer Recovery Media, you may need an external optical disc drive for models shipped without a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drive.

1. If required, ensure that the external optical drive is plugged into a USB port.
2. Power on the system and press F2 to enter the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) Setup during Power-On Self-Test (POST), when the Acer logo is being displayed.
3. Use the arrow keys to navigate Boot or Advanced BIOS Feature.
4. Refer to on screen instructions to set the first device to the built-in optical drive, or USB CDROM.
5. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the System CD.
6. Close the CD-ROM tray.
7. Press F10, then press Enter to save the changes and reboot the system. The system will now start from the Acer Recovery Media.
8. After the system recovery program has loaded follow the prompts to reinstall the operating system.

In case you did not create your recovery media or have no recovery media available, please contact our Customer Service for information on how to obtain a set of Recovery Discs
