WinXP factory settings

Friend has a pc from pcs around 18 months old. OS is windows XP (his choice)
Does anyone know whether the machine has a hidden partition containing the OS and, if so, how does one access same please?

There wont be a hidden partition containing the OS,PCS supplies OEM OS disks,so don't use the factory reset option.A clean install with the disk will do the same thing,but will require drivers to be installed you can do this from the driver disks provided.

Many thanks for reply, I suspected this would be the case. Unfortunately the prat can't find his discs so I've advised him to either (a) find the discs or (b) purchase a win7 disc .... my fingers crossed that he will upgrade. I hope pcs will be able to furnish a drivers disc if I get completely stuck.

Drivers shouldn't be that much of a problem,you can always download them from manufacturers websites.
