As far as I know weekends do not count as part of the working days.

That is a really dangerous thing to do, I'd advise you don't try and estimate when it will be done and just keep counting the days :) That way you're less likely to get disappointed if its slightly delayed :)

But as Keynes said, working days include Mon-Fri. I know they man the phones on Saturdays and I believe they sometimes work weekends during exceptionally busy periods (ie Christmas etc.) but I wouldn't count on that at all!

well i understand what your saying there about the delays but it was for calculating if it was goin to be arriving on a day that im at uni for an exam, but its a laptop that was in the middle of being built and according the flowchart diagram they display, it was goin to take another 2 days building, 2 days testing and 2 day QC, all max and 3 day min for all of it. but all this has just been blown out the water as it is awaiting dispatch now.

The other thing to consider is that in a lot of cases (fna fna) the PCs are ready BEFORE that estimated lead time.

This means you really have no way of knowing until it hits "Awaiting Dispatch" or however it is termed as to when you'll get it.

You can definitely work to the estimates to get a rough idea, and I would do as Keynes said and not count weekends as part of that, but until it gets through testing and QC, you simply cannot judge it accurately enough to matter :)

To clarify the original question.
PCS' working days run Monday to Friday inclusive, Call Centre work on Saturdays but with half manpower. It is very difficult to predict your order production time and is much easier once it is in testing.

It all depends if they make it back from the pub on Friday afternoon though :whistling:
