RTX 3080

update: I was told that in the middle of last week they were building 3080 machines from October 10th, so my build should be getting picked very soon too. Apparently there are people with 82 working days out there
There's a couple who post on here around that time

Been lurking on this thread for quite a while now

I'm currently on 74 days (20th Oct) so will drop a note here if I see any movement on my 3080 / 3900x order, must be getting close now.

I've a Samsung CRG9 in a box here waiting for this :)
I'm also on 74 days as of today. Hopefully it's soon!

My order is far newer than the vast majority of posters. I reckon that one of two things will happen, either I am in for a very long wait for the 3080 or a new card will come out, allowing me to change and avoid the obsolescence. I do have every sympathy for the team at PCSpecialists as they are on a hiding to nothing. The global situation is not their fault.

Another upside is that I have plenty of time to find the best monitor and the best VR headset. Silver linings and clouds as they say.....

Have you checked out the HP Reverb 2? I don't think it's quite been released in the UK, but is looking exceptionally promising. I believe it was designed in unison with Valve.

Well I'm on 84 working days and just today have been notified it was built and now in testing. Honestly at this stage I'll believe it when I see it and it's actually all plugged in and running in front of me. My build includes the Ryzen 9 5950X and ASUS ROG STRIX GEFORCE RTX 3080.

I was told it was ready for building beginning of Jan. Then a few days later I was told I had to first pay an updated VAT bill for which I still haven't been sent and have requested several times from 2 different people at the helpdesk. One of those e-mails was about 13 days ago with no reply. :ROFLMAO:

But yea it's getting built anyway? Frankly if I wanted to deal with clowns I'd have gone to a circus. 🤡

Anyway, good luck out there folks.

Rog Strix 3080 and a 5900X here ar 54 working days. Asked my queue position and got this as part of reply:

"Our production line for desktop computers relies on a singular queue, we do not apply a queue position to individual items as this is redundant for our systems."

Bit worrying as sounds like they're not even holding items for your order if there are multiple items and instead giving it to newer orders who maybe have only one item missing. Makes sense business I'm sure but sure feels bad to know that 5900 and 3080 have probably gone which could have been saved for the oldest orders

They can’t give queue positions because it depends on all other components, so the build possibilities are in the thousands. Knowing your on 54 days you’ve probably got a bit of a longer wait considering the guy above has only just entered build at 84 days.

Its not the lack of queue position that was concerning but the fact the components dont appear to be saved for your order if there are multiple things holding it up

Ah okay, yeah that seems to be a point of contention with a few of us, but just got to trust they’re doing their best so we get our orders according to the date we ordered them.

As some of you are aware I changed my order yesterday at around 10am from the 3080 to the 3090 it went into build today at around 13:00, not sure how long it’s going to sit in that status

Yeah that is what worries me. I can wait for a 3080. But I don’t want to then find out my CPU or Motherboard is now out of stock and then lose the 3080 due to other stock issues.

I'm looking at a wide range of kit at the moment. I'm a hobby pilot and am keen to use Fs2020 to practice approaches and procedures into airfields that I am not familiar with. My kids are also into racing games so 3D appears to take everything to the next level. I know this is a bit of thread drift so to keep within the rules, I'll add that the only sensible alternative to the 3080 appears to be the 3090 but the price difference is the thick end of the cost of a 4k monitor. o_O
