I've removed them before for clients and they have come off easily and without leaving a mark.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Does PCS use GPU sag brackets if they're required?

Thanks again. I'll bear all this in mind when I come to order and will either spring for the Strix (ASUS cards seem unaffected by the POS Caps / MLCC Caps debacle). I should also bear in mind, I think, that AIB's might remedy this on the 20GB versions anyway I suppose. And then there's...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Does PCS use GPU sag brackets if they're required?

Thanks Steaky. When I know what I'm ordering I'll call PCS and ask, I guess. Failing that I can just source my own and fit it. Do you think sag brackets are required here or is it not really an issue?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST When's Zen 3 coming?

I know when AMD launched the XT range, PCS had them on the configurator within a week or so? Of course, these were just "speed-binned" CPU's as opposed to a whole new architecture but the timescale might be similar.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Does PCS use GPU sag brackets if they're required?

Hi all I note that the 3080 and its ilk are big, heavy cards, but I don't see a sag bracket as an option on the PCS configurator. Are they used as a standard if you specify a weighty GPU? Also, do we know if we're able to specify the BRAND of GPU as I understand that some 3080 manufacturers...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Thank you thank you! In that case I'll stick with the FDD7Q since it's a better-looking case than the Meshify. Will definitely go with the H115i too. I just didn't want to have to open the door every time I played a game! This forum is epic! Brilliant help.

@AgentCooper I have been reading up on the Fractal Design Define 7 Quiet and it would appear that thermals might actually be an issue? The above was taken at the 15:49 mark of of a Gamers Nexus video which I generally find to be pretty good. A pity that PCS seem to have no availability for...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

That's no problem at all. I just didn't want to be a pest as it were! I do realise that recommendations need context and some knowledge of the system's overall design goals so I was looking to pose my questions in isolation as it were, since the actual specs of the machine (cores / RAM / GPU...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

No I am sorry I don't have a spec yet as it's going to be based on Zen3. I think 8 or 10 core CPU, 32GB 3600MHz RAM, Fast M.2 drive (980 Pro or similar), nVidia 3080 10GB or 20GB (or RDNA2 if it's compelling). I can't draft the spec yet as there are too many unknow variables but I was just...

Thanks! I will check that thread out and of course, welcome any input from @SpyderTracks or @Scott too. Er... what about motherboards? It doesn't sound to me (from poring over all the specs) that I need anything more than an ASUS x570 TUF Gaming? I don't need WiFi and I am not...

Thanks but I think I want 3x separate panels because I like to snap windows to individual screens. Plus, 3x 4K will give an effective desktop of 11520 x 2160 whereas the G9 sports "only" 5120 x 1440. I agree though - it's a beast!

Oh.... would I need additional case fans for the FD7Q or is it fine out of the box as it were?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Okay! I'm now sold on the FD7Q then. In the overall scheme of things it's not a big deal. It was never going to be a cheap PC replacement :) Re: monitors... the system will be used for gaming (obviously!) but also, it's my main work PC (my own company so it's a part-funded thing as it...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Thanks! Great feedback. I'm sure the PCS configurator would catch the sizing issue with the Fractal Case and the 115i so I would go for that I think. Not that I am wanting to throw money away here, but if we think the FD7Q is a better case than the Lian Li for some reason, I'd go the extra...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Thanks. I looked at the Lian Li Lancool II (thinking I could maybe just set the RGB to white, or off) but is the FD7Q a better case overall then? Re: the cooler, is the 115i worth the extra or are you totally happy with the 100i? I think the 155i has a larger, but slower moving fan, yes? In...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Pertinent question! Thanks. Not interested in RGB for a start. As long as it doesn't sound like a leafblower it'd be okay so the focus would be on cooling rather than noise dampening. It'll still be quieter than my 10-year old Core i7-870 I am sure!

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Thanks. I had looked at the H100i and the H115i too. I was just concerned about serviceability / maintenance but I understand that with AIO's it's not an issue?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Thanks. It's a question of being patient then, and also waiting for Zen3 / 3080 (10 or 20GB) / RDNA2 As a side note... which of PCS' current case offerings has the best airflow for a high end gaming rig, would you say? Would likely look to use a Zen3 8/10 core CPU / 32GB 3600MHz RAM. Also...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Samsung 980 Pro

Any news on whether PCS will be offering these drives in their configurator when they launch later this month? They're brisk performers by the look of it and I would want one or two in my new system when I order (post Zen3 announcement) if possible.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Questions in principle, prior to pushing the big green "Go" button...

Yeah I realise that, but thanks for your feedback anyway! I'd just weigh the Zen3 options as we know what they are. I'd welcome, in the interim, any comments you might have on the other points though :) Thanks again for coming back so quickly; much appreciated.
