PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Cannot add RGB fans due to case fan limit

It was over 2 years ago but when I ordered by Fractal Meshify C (which comes with 2 fans) I added the 3xLL120 fans to the order and the PCS team moved the preinstalled fans from front and back to top and installed the RGB fans at the front and rear. I never had to ask them to do this, they just...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Four beeps

This is fairly common, to varying degrees with the RTX 30 cards. Asus (for their RTX cards) have actually included a BIOS update to fix it. For others, disabling CSM support in the BIOS is a fix. For mine, I just need to make sure my monitor is on and set to DP if I've used it on HDMI for my...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST GPU upgrade

For a 'normal' 3090, an 850W PSU is more than enough. However, the Suprim is going to be drawing more than the 362W to get those frequencies and at stock voltage (which is typically too high) on these cards, you are looking at up to 420W. So, if you are running a 9900k then you are looking at...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Incorrect Power Cord received with RM850x (UK vs EU cord)

While you wait for your RMA, just use the lead from a kettle. Or, if you don't want to do the whole RMA thing, just replace the end as UBUYSA mentions. A kettle cord will be designed for up to 3 kilowatts so easily enough to handle the power draw of your PSU.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Beeping on boot up and fan speed

Heard/read a lot about this with RTX cards. Mine included. My issue (with a Gigabyte board) is exactly as Nursemorph says, if my monitor is connected to my laptop and then I switch over to desktop before a) turning off and then b) manually ensuring I swap to DP from HDMI then I get the beeps...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST what make will the gpu be?

Yep, it's not 100% ideal but you can just run games at a lower resolution than the monitor OR use the same screen resolution but turn down the render resolution scale in the games that have the feature e.g. Fortnite, COD etc.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

I disagree. If you read my original post, I took the time to point out to the OP a number of things about their misperception of getting an 'inferior GPU brand' based on years of experience and up to date information. Another of their concerns was that they would receive a card that they...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

So why are we even having this conversation? This is exactly what I was pointing out in my very first post. EDIT: The point I was making is that if the OP is worried about getting a Zotac card because they can't overclock it (it is power locked) then they shouldn't worry about simply flashing...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

Do let me know if I'm interpreting this incorrectly: Overclocking doesn't void your CPU/GPU warranty if the overclocking doesn't damage your CPU/GPU. But if it does, then your warranty is void. That's like saying you won't go to jail if you rob a bank. Unless of course you get caught robbing...

    We're talking about GPU BIOS.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

I would have thought that overclocking would also void your warranty, no? You would only want to flash your BIOS if you wanted to unlock the power limit to overclock.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

I've bought and used at least 20 GPUs in the last 20 years, not to mention other PC components from pretty much every manufacturer. It feels like what you are referencing above is based on what you've read on the internet. My most recent, long term card (2 years) was a Palit 2080 ti. It. was...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST No 9900K upgrade or build availability?

Is there a reason, beside stock, that the 9900K is no longer available for new builds or (in my instance) upgrades?

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST New System emitting 4 beebs on start up

I had the same issue, albeit on a Gigabyte board after I installed my RTX 3090. I disabled CSM in the BIOS and all back to normal in terms of start up beep. That said, I didn't have any USB warnings. I would check for conflicts in hardware manager as listed above. Also, check all your...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Poor selection of cases

Yep, that's a nice service. Just be sure to match your components to the case in terms of fit. pcpartpicker.com is a great resource to check compatibility.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST GPU upgrades to previous orders

Grumpy guy here again. First, thank-you for your quick replies earlier. If anything, the responsiveness will encourage me to use this forum again. Second, I thought an update on my situation could be of benefit to other members. The Fractal Meshify C is a popular case (number 2 on...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST GPU upgrades to previous orders

You're missing the point. PC Specialist have all my specs on file - I access those when ordering an 'upgrade'. When you spec a PC in the first place, the web tool tells you if you've specified something that clashes. If you upgrade you need to sit on the phone for 2 hours to be told it's...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST GPU upgrades to previous orders

That's true but not very helpful. By the same logic, could also remove the entire front panel of the case. The fans at the front are there for a practical reason, not just their RGB effects.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST GPU upgrades to previous orders

It appears that there is RTX 3090 availability if I go to upgrade my build that I bought around 2 years ago. The thing is, I have a Fractal Meshify C and the max card length is 315mm. The Palit, Asus TUF, eVGA FTW and MSI Ventus will all fit but the Gigabyte, Zotac and others won't. So, how...
