3D rendering desktop spec REQUIRED!!

Hi my quote is number: 451554
can someone help me and look at the spec i've detailed to improve it for a high end desk top for 3d rendering? my budget is £1,500 ex vat.

can you paste your spec into the thread so we can see it? Also it would be useful to let us know what sorts of programs you will be using, high spec rendering, low poly game renders, video rendering etc? Maya, Max, Cinema 4D, lightwave, inventor etc?

thanks for the reply guys,

im curretnly using Sketchup pro for my modeling and v-ray for rendering, mostly interiors which means i have a lot of lights and multiple textures , reflection maps etc. currently take 53mins a render on average at 800x600 on an intel i5 4gb ram and i think half a meg standard graphics card (off the shelf HP desktop).

The componet that will improve your render performance the most will be the GPU you have selected, the processor is nice and you have plenty of RAM. The only urgent change i would advise is upgrade to a barracuda or caviar black for your HDD so that your not being let down by a slow HDD. Also consider a corsair 650w PSU as they are just better, totaly worth the extra £10

I've made the improvements as you've suggested and looks good!!

Also one final tiny question. i do a lot of photography and normally use my SD slot on my pc. does this spec hav an SD card slot?? i can't find an opton for it, or do they come as standard?

I use mine all the time too, very handy indeed. Pretty much everything fits in somewhere in the card reader you will get. it also adds an extra usb2 port on the front of your case which is something i use all the time.
