Advise needed please on PC configuration

Hi,
Could you please help? I am looking for an all round high spec desktop PC that will last. I am not computer literate so find a lot of this overwhelming.
I like to have a lot of programmes open at once so have struggled with memory and speed. I game, watch vids, play and play around a lot with image editing etc.
Should I go for the next processor up but it looks like this does not have integrated graphics and will this throw anything else out?
Do I need a network card, isn't this also on the motherboard?
Is the wireless network card the correct one, I have fibre optic broadband?
Is it best to up the power supply to allow for running additional plug in's?
Do you think it is possible to have another row of USB's in the front of the case?
Your advice would be much appreciated.

Hi there. Could I get you to take a quick look at this thread that explains the information we need to help your properly.

In particular, it helps if you can add:

• your budget
• what monitor(s) you will be using with the computer
• if possible, what kind of games you will be playing

With your specific questions... If you have a graphics card, you don't need integrated graphics. The network connection is on the motherboard. If you want to use WiFi, that's the best network card; if you can connect with a wired connection, though, do that instead and leave the wireless card out. You definitely want to up the power supply both for future and current needs. And no, it's not possible to add USB ports to the front except where the case allows. (You could, of course, use a USB hub, though it's kinda ugly.)

Finally, everyone here will sing the same tune and advise an AMD build rather than Intel. You get loads more performance, longevity and value for money right now with AMD.

Additionally, I have a few questions to help spec out a suitable build once you've had a read through.
What is your budget?
What are your uses for your build? You've mentioned gaming, what sort of games do you play? e.g FPS titles, Open world, RTS, Simulator games etc. With image editing, is that limited to Photoshop or do you use other programs?
What monitor do you have? Make/model or resolution/refresh rate would be handy to know.

I am just finalising my build spec and have selected the FRACTAL DEFINE 7 BLACK QUIET MID-TOWER CASE. Could someone please confirm that it will take a DVD drive, item hasn’t been rejected but it is hard to see where it will go and does it have a glass side? Not that bothered about this but If it does I want it to look great inside so will select RGB cooling. I have checked out their website but not clear to a numbnuts like me..

And, while the Define 7 does have a glass side-panel variant, it isn't the one PCS sells. (You can get it if you really want and send it in for them to build your system in that case.)

As stated above, the Fractal Define is essentially a black box. It's designed with soundproofing in mind, so when configured correctly you won't know when your PC is running.
There are variants with a glass side panel for better visuals, but the tradeoff is less soundproofing, and PCS don't stock those variants. As stated above though, if you wanted a case like that it's a straightforward process to have it sent to PCS and for them to put your build in it.

Hi,
I have taken onboard advice given previously and given to others and come up with this final AMD spec.
before I hit the order button I would very much like your input please.
Budget around £2k, Want an all round future proof PC, will be used for business stuff, graphics (Adobe suite CS5 and Coraldraw) and photo editing. Would also like it to be capable for gaming (son) poss RTS.
Need DVD player and as many USB ports on the front/top as possible.

TUF is a good call, cooler-wise if I were to downgrade I would probably opt for the Coolermaster 240 lite.
Good spot on the monitor too. The 3060ti would be a better fit, although if we're looking for a 1440p 144hz monitor I wouldn't go any cheaper than the Samsung G5. The Ilyama cuts a lot of corners to get to its price point, the most significant being its a TN panel with poor viewing angles and contrast.
Platinum warranty is also something to consider. Most builds we spec we stick with Silver Warranty, but I understand if you want to have that feeling of safety with the build.

If you were to downgrade to the Tuf X570 and the CoolerMaster 240 (thanks @MrWilson ) and lower the RAM speed to 3200MHz (you probably won't notice the difference), then add the 3060Ti to cope with a 1440p monitor, this gets you to £2130.

Now, you've not actually described any tasks that are particularly core-intensive (gaming and image editing are still largely dependent on single-core speed), if you needed to save a bit more you could very reasonably go down to the 5600X and the standard AMD cooler, which takes you down to around £1935. If you are keen on saving a bit (maybe to get that Samsung G5!) this would be an obvious way to do it.
