Oh, nice! Fingers crossed on the house, are you going to make an offer?

This system is quite frankly the most rewarding thing I've ever invested in, it's sublime.

It's all happened a bit fast. The market has been quite stale of late, understandably. Spotted a house that, on paper, looked perfect so immediately contacted. My house isn't even up for sale so got the estate agent coming out tomorrow. The visit today went really well and the house is literally perfect for me. Don't want to get ahead of myself though so will see what tomorrow brings.

I can only imagine. To be honest, I have fond memories of my old hand-me down record player. The amp in it was awful, the speakers were like tin.... but the warmth emitted from that vinyl disc is something that I've longed for many a year. I would be happy with such a setup even now but there's just no way I wouldn't go the whole hog (within reason).

Old one looked a bit like this.... cept it was that fake vinyl wood colour..

If you do step into the analogue system world, there’s a couple of forums I’d highly recommend, www.vinyengine.com and audiokarma.org, both brilliant, and find a local dealer with a good rep and ask them lots of questions. There’s so much out there and it’s a bit daunting at first.

And as a side bar... DON’T take anyone’s opinions, it’s all about what works for your ears and the only way to be sure is to hear it. A good dealer will always let you demo stuff at home or in their listening room.

Above & Beyond - Acoustic, absolutely wonderfully produced and very intimate album, perfect for testing the capabilities of a system!
Brilliant!

Exit Music (For a Film) by Radiohead is my usual track when sound checking audio equipment. The whole of OK Computer’s production is amazing but the way that song swells and peaks makes it my go to choice.

Incredible album and incredible song! Might have to put that on next!

Interested to see some of the mugs on this thread, does anyone else make their own? I am currently into dye sublimation printing and putting designs on mugs is quite simple, although you need a heat press to do it.

First brew in the new diggs. Let the car see some sun too. Had the GF out in it at full boost too which was fun 🤣

What are you brewing? Do you like the fermzilla (assuming that's waht it is)? I've never used one myself, still in the old plastic buckets in a ferm fridge here - need to get more shiny! I brewed a basic pale with some Citra hops recently - its bubbling away quite nicely!

Nice to see the spunding valve :)

Edit: Obligitory brewing images previously posted here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/what-are-we-doing-with-our-time.68828/#post-476259

It's an Old Speckled Hen clone from the Malt Miller. Always loved it as a beer but surprised with the lack of hops and malt profile considering the taste. It even used brewing sugar in the recipe too, to bump up the ABV. Will be interesting to see if it's a match for the original :D

I really like the Fermzilla. I probably don't use it completely the way it's advertised, but I like the idea of fermenting under pressure. I've got a stainless fermenter too but I like to be able to peak in and see how my beer is going from time to time, it's mesmerising.

My main aim with it is to let all the sediment fall into the trap at the bottom, and then to transfer to the corny using the float..... after cold crashing etc. It's worked out well for me so far. I just added a little filter to the float just to keep any stray hops or etc out. I don't bother with closing off the valve and removing the sediment or anything like that.... I just leave it until I'm finished entirely in one go.
