I chose the k variant because I can afford it and chose the 1600mhz ram because I may need it for editing. :)

I will be using the PC for editing using big programs eg: Sony Vegas and After Effects and some cinema 4d.

I Don't know much on editing but the spec looks good to me for what your doing.

I've done a few threads before and I took all of it into consideration and went with this. When I get some new games, I would love to get them on
high-max ish settings. Will the 580 be able to do that?

I have 1.5GB GTX580 and that plays everything at max on 1920x1200 if that will put you a bit more at ease ;)

id personally get a z68 board, they have so many more cool features whereas the P67 ones are pretty basic

What kind of features? And I chose the Sabertooth due to how it has so many USB ports and it is very cool.

dunno just seems to have loads more features, cant remember exactly but when i was originally choosing the pros of any of the z68 boards outweighed any P67 boards by a mile

Looks pretty solid to me,
regardless which one of the motherboards you choose.
