Davinci Resolve Editing System, with a bit of gaming.

For video editing you want a flat screen in my view. The AOC Q27G2U is a good bet at £280. For a bit more you can go for an IPS panel such as the LG 27GL850-B, which might be a good call for video editing.
Just one other thing to ask, can I just buy some extra Corsair RGB fans and install myself afterwards, will it have a built in controller already installed if I’m going for the 4000 case and H115 cooler ? seems PCS only want to sell 3 fans which won’t work in the build as it counts the rear fan as used

OK, folks, this is where i am at, went for the Corsair iCUE 5000x instead of the 5000D, as it has front fans and well, RGB!

Need to get it ordered as its doing my head in changing stuff all the time as i keep going up and down, any last comment before i click buy ?

The Strix isn't necessary – the Tuf would be sufficient – but it's not inherently a bad idea if it's something you want for particular reasons, or for looking to future CPU upgrades. I'd also want a 1TB secondary drive, at the expense of being slower if that was necessary for the budget.

But otherwise it looks great, and the 5000X is a lovely, lovely case.

Cheers, Strix looks like it has better I/O, but i might be wrong, will see how much of a change a 1TB M.2 on the second M.2 will do to the price

The PCS 1TB M2's are quite cheap and work really well. From the guys on the forums testing them too they seem to be faster than the advertised speed which was a nice surprise as well

Ta, i actually meant to put the Cappelix H115i in there too.

1TB PCS drive doesn't add much on, its just going to be used for project and scratch drive for Davinici so doesn't really even need to be an M.2, just using it as its there instead of a 2.5 SSD

OK, been stacked out at work so not had chance to sort this, this is where i'm finally at with the system that I started looking at weeks ago !

I have gone up to the 5900x as the price difference between that and the 5800 is negligible, gone for the 3070 Ti over the 2070 as it appears to be in stock.

Any comments before i press the buy button ?

Super build mate, fair warning the Ironwolf drives are pretty loud. They're usually designed for servers I believe and it'll work fine but I find they are quite loud

The only thing I'd wonder is a purely aesthetic option: the H150i can be mounted in the side-panel of the 5000X, which looks particularly lovely: that's an alternative to the H115i. It's by no means necessary: it's not significantly better at cooling but it looks really nice.

Out of stock at the moment, i may wait another few days and see if it appears again, then the case will probably be out of stock !

Would the side be the default PCS mount location for the H150?

You could order and amend it if the cooler comes back in.

I'd guess "probably", but it's worth messaging to ask for a note to be put on the order IMO.

For my build I went with 2x2TB Barracudas rather than a 4TB Ironwolf. It was actually cheaper

I like the idea of having it side mounted but looks like it September before the H150i Cappelix is due back in stock, is there really much difference between that and the H150i Pro XT ? Seems to be very similar performance looking at some comparisons online ?

OK, here it is the final config, dropped to the 3TB Barracuda instead of the Ironwolf, was actually tempted to just go 1TB 2.5" SSD and offload to cloud for bulk non moving storage, any thoughts on that ?

Had to stick with the H115i Capellix as the H150i Capellix is out of stock until September, may still see if i can get it installed on the side and put some extra fans in the top if things need a bit more cooling

Looks great. With the H115i, though, it's a 280mm radiator, so it wants to go on the top of the case. If you want to add more cooling, you can then add 120mm fans to the side panel.

(Sorry I ignored your question before: I entirely overlooked it!)

I see there is the 465x appeared on the site, any thought on this vs the 5000x, seems the 5000x may be a bit bigger than required for standard non custom loop builds ? Or am i worrying about 75mm for nothing and am better with the extra space for possible future upgrades and general airflow ?

I think they're very similar indeed. I think the 465X might not fit with the RGB ram, but if the configurator allows it I presume it's ok. Technically the 5000 series is now flexible because you can actually buy replacement front panels, so you could change to an airflow panel if you want to. I think that's quite unlikely, though.

Ultimately I think it's more of an aesthetic choice than anything else. For me the 5000X is awesome, but if you prefer the 465X I'm not going to say you're wrong.
