AMD Vs Intel - This is VERY important right now. You really want to be looking at AMD for every use.

I want to be able to run the newest games such as Call Of Duty , Battlefield 2042 with above good performance and high 1080p graphics and the monitor I have right now is a 25inch Omen 144hz which does 1080p

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4) No need for such a huge CPU if you are only gaming. I can see a move for 5900X if you really want a top end processer but definately not Ryzen 9 5950

You could, of course, get a new monitor and a computer to match within your budget. I think that would be a better option than spending this much on a build to match your existing monitor.

For instance, you could buy a UWQHD monitor for £450, spend £2300 on a build and have an awesome experience, far better than anything you'll get on that monitor.

That’s understandable thank you tbh I’ll look into getting another monitor since I have the money now.

The 3080 is (very slightly) overkill for UWQHD but there isn't really a better alternative at the moment. The only change I'd make to @Elliott B's build would be to change the motherboard to the Tuf alternative, saving £60.

I'd then get a monitor like the AOC CU34G2X/BK for £445. Would be an awesome pairing.

The ASUS Dual 3070 is available now. Yesterday it was about £79 more than the mythical standard 3070 but much cheaper than a 3080.

Whether that price for the standard 3070 is correct is open for discussion, but I agree.

I was looking into buying my first pc and since I am new to this sort of stuff I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 144hz Omen 24 inch monitor and I want to play games at high 1080p but smooth anyone got any suggestions it would help a lot. I am looking for the best 1080p build basically doesn’t matter the price.

The best no matter what the price? That's not a very sensible goal. You can buy a PC for £2500 or more that will do a ludicrously good job at 1080p, or you can build one for £1500 that will do a good job. Beyond £2k, you should be thinking of getting a better monitor, as once you've reached the maximum of what your monitor can display, all the shiny stuff in the world won't give you any more performance.

So a ballpark, approximate figure is really necessary, or a re-appraisal of what monitor you might want to end up shooting for!

I’m just looking for a really good 1080p build that is not overkill i am not looking to go 1440p anytime soon

And was it a desktop you were looking for? (Depending what it is I''ll move this thread to a more relevant section of the forums :))

But knowing your max budget is kinda necessary even if its not all used, saying price doesn't matter doesn't really help I'm afraid as some say this and then cringe when it comes out higher than they'd imagined :) (even for a 1080p build)

Edit, this thread has now been merged with and earlier one, thus a couple of the later comments possibly not making as much sense :)

As above, you need to specify your budget, if you dont want to do that then just drop the GPU in above spec to a 3060 or similar and that will be more than good enough, then if you decide you want to go 1440 in a few years just swap out the 3060
