Could you indicate your actual budget? Just gaming? The dragonfly cpu cooler will be fine for your cpu choice

If you don't need the OS then you could go for either of these 2 builds they are slightly different but more balanced for gaming.

If you need the OS then these specs will need to be altered, personally I would go for the 1st spec.

Thanks for the reply. No I don't need an OS as I have a disk already. I would prefer to keep 16gb as majority of games are becoming standard for 8gb RAM. My friend tried running GTA V and he only has 8gb and it didn't run so well (Although we haven't come to a solid conclusion that, that was the problem as he only played once or twice) but I was recommended by a few friends to have more RAM.
Also what are the pro's and cons for both 6600 and the 4690? - which one would be better for gaming (GTA V, Star Citizen, Fallout 4 etc.)
And are you sure the Dragonfly cooler will be fine? I just don't wanna be a few months down the line and it needed an upgrade or whatever.
Thanks for the suggestion. Look forward to hearing back

If your friend had problems running the game I really doubt is the ram

Hmm. I dunno. I'm really set on having 16gb. I'd rather have more if I can. Also I usually have a lot of apps like Skype, Steam, Games, Browsers, Spotify etc. and of course the OS. It may not effect it even with 8gb.

The difference gaming wise between the CPU's will hardly be noticeable maybe 1-2 FPS game depending of course so the main thing for performance in games is the GPU and from what I have heard the DDR4 RAM does not give much of a boost to gaming performance either, the CPU fan will be fine with the Dragonfly as you won't be overclocking so it will keep it more than cool enough. Keynes spec above is a good spec to look at as it has a SSD drive which will help with your Boot times and Load times on any games you install on it but I would stick with the WD Black drive for now I am still using mine and they are really good drives and an SSD could be a future upgrade that is very easy to do, as for the RAM if you really want to spend the extra on 16GB that is fair enough but mainly people only go for that amount when they are doing a lot of picture/video editing and yes you are right there are games starting to appear now with a minimum recommended spec of 8GB but again if your on a budget no need to go for more until you really need it as this is another very easy upgrade later down the line when you have some more money to put into the build. Basically when I do a spec I try to sort out the parts that will be harder to upgrade or probably won't get upgraded at all first (Case, MB, CPU, CPU Cooler, PSU) and then build the rest of the spec around that getting the best parts I can (GPU, RAM, HDD/SSD) with the rest of the budget as these are the easy 1-3 years down the line improvements.

Thanks for the information. Of course I am not to fussed about the 1 - 2 fps difference. But how old is the 4690 and how well do you think it will be in the future and how well it compares to the 6600? As I am wanting to play games like the new Tom Clancy The Division. I know I am running around in circles but this is the first gaming pc that I am planning so I just want to everything to go well.
I will most likely get the DDR3 16gb then if there is no real difference.
Yeah SSD will be a possible upgrade and will certainly take that into consideration.
I should have stated that I will be doing a little bit of editing etc.
Is it worth getting the Asus H81M Gamer ATX LG1150 or just the Micro?

There are many things that may cause GTA not to run well. I can easily make it not run well with 16GB RAM.
16GB RAM is a reasonable plan though.

I would really go with the Z97 Pro Gamer MB much better board.

I can't remember when that i5-4690 came out sorry, as I said there is not much performance difference with the new generation only a slight improvement for gaming and a bit more performance for editing but if you are only doing a little bit it won't make much difference so it won't really make any difference in a year or two.

We are not really going round in circles you are spending a good amount of money and you want to get the right build so asking and double checking things are very worthwhile.

I will best get the gamer MB then.
I double checked and on a website it said 2014 which isn't to bad still modern. I will go with the 4690 and if needs be I can always change CPU (6600's i have seen are like 150)
What is the difference between the HyperX RAM and just the normal Kingston?

The Kingston is the basic low cost RAM and the HyperX Fury will run at the same speed but has a nice looking heat spreader (red) on it so mainly it looks nicer if you get a case with a large side viewing window.

Gaming Case

I was wondering what the SHARKOON BULLDOZER GAMING CASE is like. I was or still am going to get the Coolermaster HAF 912. Was wondering which would be better? Price wise obviously the sharkoon. What are your thoughts?

Mainly depends if you want a side window or not (if it will be under the desk then you probably won't see it anyway)

Not sure what size GPU's the Sharkoon can take so you would have to check (top end cards can be slightly longer) as the case is slightly smaller than the 912

Out of the 2 I would probably want the HAF 912 but the Sharkoon looks a nice case and cooling should not be a problem so it just depends on what you want as you will be the one looking at it.

Alright okay. Well I will most likely have it on my desk. It doesn't say anything when I saved the sharkoon with the components I have chosen. I will most likely get the sharkoon., plus I like Green :p Thankyou once again!

You are welcome, I wanted a green fan for the back of my HafX case but ended up with a another blue as I did not want to pay about £6 delivery charge for a fan that was on offer at £4.
