Making sure my motherboard isn’t overkill

Hi I’m looking at getting a new pc for gaming and want to make sure that my motherboard isn’t overkill.
For clarification I will be using it for games like ark survival evolved and gtaV.
I have a 1080p monitor and will be upgrading to a 4k later down the line

Please can you post it as described here:

I would strongly recommend you do it so we can help you, because what I can see of the build you've posted looks like a very bad plan to me. But it's hard to tell or to offer advice without the full context.

I’m worried some of the components won’t work with others
I have a 1080p Benq monitor however I will be upgrading to a 4k monitor Down the line.
The use will be for gaming.
And my max budget is £3400

I'm sure this will be merged with the other thread where the other details can be found. I'll reply there.

You've posted your spec in another thread: I'm sure it will be merged here shortly.

I think you're going in a bad direction and can get much better value and performance with an AMD-based build. Here's what I'd suggest for you:

Case
HYTE Y60 MID-TOWER PANORAMIC CASE A good case: you should select "side" for mounting the cooler to make the best of it
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) The best gaming CPU there is
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6) A reasonable mid-tier motherboard: all you need for gaming
Memory (RAM)

32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
16GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4080 SUPER - HDMI, DP, LHR A much, much faster graphics card
1st M.2 SSD Drive

512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) Super-fast boot drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive

2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW) Games drive
1st Storage Drive

8TB SEAGATE IRONWOLF PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 256MB CACHE Do you actually need an 8TB hard drive? What's it for? If you do, this one is much better than the slow Barracuda
Power Supply

CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ - MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Plenty of power capacity for now and the future
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler Great cooler and can be mounted in the ideal side position on the Hyte Y60
Thermal Paste

STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Extra Case Fans
5 x Corsair AF120 RGB ELITE PWM Fan + Controller Kit Undoubtedly overkill and unnecessary, but will look good in that case
Sound Card

ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

3 Year Platinum Warranty (3 Year Collect & Return, 3 Year Parts, 3 Year labour) I don't think this is great value (the silver is all I'd get), but I'd hardly disagree if you want it!

This has a faster CPU and graphics card, faster storage and will be much cooler and more efficient than your build, and costs less. It's honestly still overkill (those fans, that hard drive), and would be an appalling waste unless you plan on upgrading that monitor very soon. It could easily be £300-400 cheaper and enable that monitor purchase sooner if we can compromise on those aspects.

Broad brush statements like that aren't helpful, but the 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU in the vast majority of circumstances and is cheaper and cooler than Intel's equivalents. It's definitely what I'd choose for the purpose.
