Hi there.

So as you can see from the picture.. My User name is set to "Carol". Pc specialist did this for me -I guess- because I used my mum's card to pay (Carol).
So ofcourse, first thing i've done is go to Control panel, delete her name. Make a new name "Danny" and give myself full admin rights.
However, When installing progams I still saw it was calling me Carol. Also, my finger recognition scanner thinks i'm Carol. And IObit system information shows i'm set to "Carol".
Not sure how to convince the pc i'm actually Danny?! :- ) help!

Just changing the name wont change much apart from the name on the start menu,
that's about all.
You could create your own administrator account from "user accounts" in control panel.
Best change the name of the existing account first if it's the same.
restart computer & log on to new account, you can then delete the other account If you wish.
Before you delete the original account you will be asked if you want to save the contents to a folder on your desktop, but It will not save e-mail messages & other settings.
Alternatively you could keep the two accounts & copy any files you want to the new account then wait until your happy with It before deleting the original account.

I think he did create his own account, from what he said in his first post, including giving himself admin rights.

Well,If Frenchy Is right you can ignore what I suggested Bricey,
can you clarify exactly what you did.

1. Rename the account you have now back to 'Carol'
2. Create a new account call it 'Danny' and make sure its an administrator account not limited and restart computer
3. Log onto 'Danny' and delete the other account by going to control panel and user accounts and click on Carol and delete
4. Restart computer again and now you will have one account 'Danny' and on settings, programs etc it will say 'Danny' as the name

:)

*EDIT* Also make sure you back up any files you have on your current account and then restore them into your newly created account

Thanks for making my reply clearer ShadowBlaze,
thing is it might not be relevant if Frenchy's correct.
Hopefully, Bricey will let us know.:turned:

Stupid question, any quick way to swap files from "Carol" to "Dan" before I delete "Carol"?
And things like , Spybot search and destroy, Warcrat, etc will automatically be on Danny correct? It's just picture's/music etc I need to swap..?

Pictures/music etc can be saved to a folder on your new desktop,
you will be given the option to save contents to a folder on your desktop before deleting the account
Programs will work as normal.
Alternatively you can manually copy the files you want over, before deleting the account.

Not swap but copy yeah, if you want to manually do them, make sure the pictures, videos etc are in 'Carol' documents, log onto 'Danny' then go to my computer inside it should be a folder called 'Carol documents' or something on the line of that, click on it locate the pictures, videos etc then copy them into your folder or desktop :)
