The spec you have chosen is massively overkill.
I would go for this (although I just looked at the requirements for shogun 2 and this is still ott to be honest). This spec will play most current games on high/ultra settings with decent fps.

Yeah 2GB is more than enough.
There's only a slight difference in performance between the 670 and 680 but a lot in price, so the 670 is well worth buying, as I said you can always add a second 670 in the future :)

Yes, I have gtx 670, it's brilliant. The motherboard and power supply I have suggested allows another 670 to be added when it is needed, the 680 is a lot of extra money for not a lot of extra performance.

edit. wow too slow again lol

Hi, another question, does the standard 10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT - AS STANDARD ON ALL PCs allow me to connect to a router in my home wirelessly?

Member Resting in Peace
It doesn't ,you need to select a wireless card, use a wireless USB adaptor or alternatively homeplugs.
Edit, unless the motherboard is wifi capable,as Rakk said.

No, you would need a motherboard that supported wireless, or a wireless card, or homeplugs.

Just the basic 802.11N PCIe card would be fine.

However, as you are going for an SLI spec, you could just get the P8Z77-V motherboard which has wireless built in. It's works well - this post has come to you via it :)

I am also wondering, will GTX 670 SLI work on shogun 2, because i heard people were having issues with it?

No idea about that, but it runs very smoothly on ultra with a single GTX-670 (at 1920 x 1080, that is).

OK, googling I see what you mean. There do seem to be a fair few people complaining about SLI performance. They did seem to be mostly from >1 year ago though. Possibly a problem that has been fixed in driver updates? In this test it seems to have worked well - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/graphics/display/geforce-gtx-670-sli_4.html#sect0, though I don't know if they actually let the game run for more than a few seconds in that kind of test. More research needed, perhaps (sorry not to be more helpful).

Yes, though it needs a dual-band router to take full advantage of it.

Anyone having fast net I assume should have been provided with a dual band capable router from the start by their ISP. Otherwise something is strangely wrong..

As mentioned by toxo, I believe such problems were long ago or based on other factors. I've spoke to a friend a while ago that's running sli 580s and he has no problem running shogun 2. So I'm pretty sure the same should apply for the 670s you're considering to opt for.

At least in the UK, ISPs are not providing dual-band routers free or by default. See here for example - http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38774/~/what-is-the-dual-band-access-point-(dbap)? - BT are currently charging £49 to add 5GHz capability. At present I think pretty much everyone here is using 2.4GHz for home wifi.
