4 gigs of memory on a graphics card - that's just insane! Love it though. :D

The power draw after enabling the overclocking switch is quite frankly scary.

Looks like a mighty beast but can only see this being plagued with problems!!

From all the reviews the card looks fantastic but extremely niche, as in five 2560x1600 monitors (insane) niche. A weird thing is that AMD have said if you turn on Uber mode using the switch they've made standard on this series of cards they'll void your warranty!

580s in sli seem to beat it on most benchmarks too, so I'm gonna stick with my 580 and get another one in the future sometime.

Yeah I read that about voiding the warranty if you use their overclock mode! Absurd! Take the option off the cards if thats the case!

If you want inferior performance :alucard:

Had a play with the 6990 yesterday, wasnt impressed. Funny how high power draw and heat arnt important for AMD users all of a sudden.

From all the tests we have run / benchmarks etc SLI 580 dominates this thing, throw in a physx capable game (see most console ports = most games) and its so far behind its a bit sad.

Well dual-GPU cards have to be the exception from any manufacturer surely.

Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near this card, nor would I the GTX 590 - would much rather get a HD 6970 or GTX 580 and CrossFire/SLI it later.

Some expensive GPU will be old news come Bulldozer anyway. :D

nVidia fanboy strikes again. nVidia design their cards for benchmarking so people like you can go whoooah look at that score. AMD design em for real world apps.

Oh arr definately, dual GPU cards are always problematic, but after how many months of fermi bashing for heat, you must admit its funny.

Used to buy ATI when they offered the best cards, a long time ago.

You mean like games? that use PhysX? or real world apps that utilise CUDA? The whole purpose of flagship cards like the 6990 is benchmarks, so they can claim things like they are faster than the fastest card in the world etc etc.

Real world use for dual GPU cards like this is micro stuttering and compatability issues.

I would also take two 580's or even 480's over a 590 too.

2 GTX580's do beat a single HD6990 but that's not really surprising, I was comparing a single HD6990 card to a single GTX580 card though. And the picture was referring to the old champion, the HD5970.

The picture is a paradox you cant be faster than the fastest :p

Ah i presumed you would of course be comparing a dual gpu card to a dual gpu setup. Even so the average gamer would be better off with a single card over this thing.

Im very impartial when it comes to graphics cards, i like the best, and I must agree with Gorman on this (BOOOO HISSSSS) as soon as anything Physx was used, and the CPU has to do the job for the card, it bottlenecked it loads :(

No physx however, this thing flies!
