dont get me wrong i m not trying to trash them or anything i honestly thought i was in good hand after reading fourm for a few days seen many happy customer and was happy to spend all that money but so far i have trouble.

well because i up trying to fix my pc and its not working out i m might aswell state my full experience with pcs so far.

order my pc 25-07-2011 it was in pre production till 05-08-2011 thats 10 days of pcs gather the part making sure eveything is ok and its ready to be bulit. or atleast that what you think

bulid date 05-08-2011 till 15-08-2011 thats 6 days where they bulid yours pc 6 long working days to put it togather

now i called them on the 11 i think to find out the case they were using was broken so they waiting for a new one. i found that out when i called them like 3 time hang on a min did nt my pc spend 10 working days in pre production to know that they have a good case i guess not and they did nt bother to inform me if i knew i would have gone for a different case.

so case arrive and than on the 15th of agust i got a voice mail that the power supply i chose crosair 1200w does nt fit in my case so i have to change it to 850 or 1010 watt of some other supplier and i thought to my self was nt my pc was bulit on the 5th ???? no no they did nt put the side panel on till 6 days later to find out it does nt fit i mean really ?? bare in mind i was allowed to configure this power supply on the customise spec page so whos fault ?? ofcourse mine.

by than i was so tired of waiting i was like what ever just do as you please so they put an other powersuplly and than from 15-08-2011 it was in so call testing and quality control for like 4 or 5 working days lol

i have no idea what they did in quality control as they should have seen the bsod which i had within 5 min of starting my pc up and i called them.

anyway so i have my pc deliver after 19 working days on the 19-08-2011 i open the side panel to find out one fan was nt working and after investigating i saw cable was screwed under the motherboard so have to unscrew one of the screw to pull it out.

i was on the phone at that time with pcs and while i was tying to check why fan was nt working i notice one little component was just floating about in the case i was like wtf is that to the guy on the phone. it says speaker on it. he was like o ya that make noise when u start your pc and i m like ya but i got one already this one is just been droped in the case to cause problem with my pc, it could have case lot more problem if i have nt seen it.

ok so i start my pc and things i notice no extra fan in my case now see this requaest i made on 2nd aguest after 3 phone calls

Have you tried reseating the GPU to make sure it has not moved during the delivery also you could try reinstalling the GPU drivers and make sure you choose advanced and clean install and get these from the nvidia site do not let microsoft update install them.

You're right you know.

i am pretty sure the problem is becuase of my ssd it has old firmwire and its a known issue old firmwire cause pc to crash with blue screen and i cant update it as i m runing windows off it. :(

There is an incompatibility problem with Sandybridge and the new Vertex 3 SSD's. I have two 120gb Vertex 3's and have updated both drives firmware to the new 2.11, swapped both as boot drives, formatted and re-installed windows several times on each, and this still has not solved my problem.

My computer can run for minutes, hours, or days and then just crash without warning sometimes forcing a repair as it won't reboot. I get BSOD's, BIOS resets, random windows and programme file corruption, my Nvidia graphics cards will just go off line forcing me to re-boot (or sometimes re-install the driver), and once my entire collection of back-drops and pictures just disappeared from my pictures folder. Also my Norton Internet software will loose files saying I have a trial version even when I have 174 days subscription left. IT'S VERY ANNOYING OCZ!

This link will take you to OCZ's forum site which they "Explain" things.

http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/f...re-we-are-with-Vertex3-Agility3-Solid3-drives

This next link will take you to Kobalt computers explaining why they have stopped using Vertex 3 SSD's in their computers completely because of a problem with OCZ's series 6 mobile chipset. I know they are laptop's but the problem seems to be the same on desktops.

http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/fo...tant-announcement-regarding-OCZ-Vertex-3-SSDs

I'm just gonna stop using my Vertex 3's until they solve the problem. Instead I'm going over to a raid set-up using two 120gb SSD's (not Vertex).

You may already know this information but hopefully it may help someone reading it for the first time.

thanks for the help mate but ya i been reading up for last 2 days to i have read pretty much everything out there lol and have did update firmwire and fresh installation but still crashing. its a shame that company like pcs does nt have a clue about this. i ll arrange a rma monday and that is not the only problem i have so far with pcs as i mention b4 the service is been really poor they have not done basic things i ask for some of the error they made are laughable make me wonder what kind of testing and quality control they do.

just a few example one of my fan at the base was nt working and after looking closly i notice the fan wire was under the motherboard and they just screwed the motherboard over the cable while it was just stuck under i mean seriouly ????

i ask them to make to partiontion of my 2 tb hdd the note was on my account nobody bother to look and guess what no partition

i called them 3 time to get more fan added to my case there was note on my account to add more fan but wait no fan was install not just that the fan which come with the case they broke one of them lol

they took 19 working days i mean 19 and delivery a pieace of junk to me with a price tag of £2433 i think. i m sorry but i m well ****ed off these are just a few things they did wrong the list can go on.

is there a superviosr or manager or who ever incharge could you please look into this poor poor service example and see if you guys can sort it out. if you cant be asked can i have my money back please. i taken 3 days off work to play with my new pc little i know i will spend them try to research the internet to fix my pc and i m so ****ed i dont even want a pc anymore

gutted to hear its ruined the new pc experience. I was having a lot of crashes when I got my PC recently too. My problem turned out to be with the over clock. Tech support helped me change some voltage settings and now its stable.

Its not what you want from a new PC but it will get sorted eventually.

You really need to call PCS or email them (sometimes emails get stacked up though, so phoning would get a quicker response), since the forums are not an official channel for support.

Sorry to hear about your problems mate.

I was thinking about buying £3700 pre-built system off these guys, I usually self build (Novatech is ten minutes from my house) but I thought why have the hassel when someone else can build it for me and I get the benefit of cover if it doesn't work properly. But after reading your story and many others on this forum it's not going to happen. It's a joke when you can drop £2000-£3000+ on a system and not get the specifications you asked for, or get fobbed off with re-installing windows or updating drivers which should of been done pre-dispatch, I mean if you're selling pre-built systems then put on up to date drivers. If you dropped three grand any other item and it didn't work as it should it would be replaced or refunded straight away, but not for some reason if you buy a computer. Now I know there are many many people who are very happy with their new PC's but it's the horror stories that concern me, I would have to deal with this company if troubles arise. You know how good a company is by it's aftersales service and from what I've read I would do well to steer clear.

Hope you get things sorted out buddy.

But after reading your story and many others on this forum it's not going to happen.

As a happy customer, I'd love to know your reasoning here.

As a seasoned forumite, I have read about half a dozen examples like faihaf.

Compare that to the dozens of happy chappies showing off their new rigs and reviewing PCS highly.

As has been said in now umpteen threads, you find a company that can make PCs that NEVER fail and you sir, can have a free Ferrari...every day...for life :)

One common theme I have seen is that those that have major problems and therefore post negative comments tend to have more expensive rigs (natually..i'd be annoyed too), which invariably means (in most cases) an OCed rig. Now, I am pretty sure from the get go if you OC summit, you accept a modicum of risk of things going awry? If not, then maybe you should, because it doesnt half ramp up the chances! :D

tl:dr

Why base your choice on a handful of bad things, which essentially means ignoring the bucketfuls of good things?

Or to put it another way: 2 Trains derail in a few months, the other 90,000 trains that travelled that month...did not. Does that mean you would not go by train anymore?

Sorry to derail faihaf, as I completely understand your frustration, but some late night common sense seemed in order, and as noone was around to give any, you got my uncommon sense instead! :D

i know what u saying deadeye but have you read my post i mean simple things was nt done i understand totaly mistake can be made but to that degree and over n over again buying an expensive pc or an over clock pc have nothing to do with added more fan making a partition or scrwing the fan cable under mother board or wrong power supply broken case . a component floating around in the case ???

i would love to hear what excuse you can come up with the above problem ?? an other train derail ??

you guys can defend pcs all you want but its a fact they have given me a very poor service

i m not here to put people off buying as there are 100 of happy customer shouting about its fair they hear poor one aswell so pcs can improve

I can open my case, I can prod things in side, but I dont even know what half the stuff is! I will therefore not pretend to help you with your problems. I was merely trying to allay any misconcieved ideas that one person's negative experience should mean someone does not use a service.

Your issue remains between yourself and PCS, as nowt we can do on here will help. All we can do is reassure those looking to buy a new PC/latpop that PCS is a great company to buy from and garner support from afterwards. Nothing is perfect, with yourself one of the exceptions that proves the rule. This is really gutting for you, I know, but does not turn PCS into monster that must be touched only wearing protective gear and a 10ft barge pole.

I really do hope you can sort your issues out next week.

mmmmm if i be really honest somewhere in my heart i still think pcs is a good company despite all the cockup, but once you get burn you just not sure anymore in my case becuase i have repeatedly poor service its an exception. not sure if pcs can fix it for me

but i m sure not many people care of what i think but i need to take out my frustration here i dont wanna be shouting on the phone to some poor worker monday morning. i work in retail my self its not nice to deal with angry customer. i m not a nasty person but frustrated and sad customer

Hi DeadEyeDuk, my reasoning is this. If a company can send out a £2400 PC and jam a connector under the motherboard, not put in the fans a customer asks for, not partition a hard drive to the buyers specifications and put in a PSU which doesn't fit (even after the compatibility check), then I don't want to deal with that company. Also the Vertex 3 SSD problem is a KNOWN problem, yet PCS is still happy to sell the drive to their customers. It probably has a stock of these drives which it doesn't want to be stuck with until the problem is sorted so it will pass them on to their customers knowing some systems will be unstable. Hell there isn't even a warning on their web site about incompatibility problems. Also it took them 19 days to send Faihaf his PC, surely the system could of been soak tested for a few days. The problem would of shown itself by then....oh but wait, they couldn't of sent it out then could they :shifty:

As I said in my original post I understand there are hundreds of perfectly happy customers, but I am looking to drop over three and a half grand on a top spec PC and I am concerned by the (albeit small) amount of customers who didn't receive a good service. Remember someone at PCS built this computer and they didn't do a very good job of it did they? I don't want to take the chance they are building MY expensive computer :nono:

Faihaf, I am glad you posted your message. I don't consider you trashed PCS but posted your problems so people like me can see them. With the others I've read I was able to make an informed decision about whether to purchase from this vendor or not.

And I choose not to :winkiss:

Thanks Guys

 So your not going to use a company based on a few of the very many customers PCS have well that is completly your choice but do you notice that they do not hide anything on here as customers/potential customers are free to come on these here forums and browse the whole site without even having to set up an account as i did myself and yes i saw some problems before i ordered but they were all sorted out and unlike most other companys who would hide these few bad experiences that they correct do they delete them no they leave them all here so that people can see they are human and as you will also do make the odd mistake.

Maybe you are new to internet forums but most forums for companys and games are full of complaints and problems as that is what most of them are for so what do you expect not to see any bad experiences at all [rollinglaugh] hmmm i think i would be very concerned and suspicious if that was the case anyway i think you will find if you bother to check the show off your PC section of the forums the happy customers with good experiences far outway the bad :gunsmilie:
