Generally a great spec you've put together there. However, here are my suggestions:

1. Do you need Windows 7 Professional? Compare the differences here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/compare

2. Consider upgrading to a 600W PSU, as this spec feels a little heavy for a 450W.

3. Note that the Blu-ray drive cannot write DVD's or BD's. Do you think you will need this facility?

the main reason for windows 7 pro is the xp compatability.

Windows XP mode is only really for applications that are garunteed to fail on Windows 7, even in compatability mode. If you already have a copy of Winows XP, I would recommend that you get Windows 7 Home Premium and use a third party application such as VirtualBox (which is free and far better than Microsofts Virtual PC) to emulate a Windows XP virtual machine on, to save yourself some cash.

A good idea but you wouldnt get the same sort of integration that XP mode gives, with XP mode you dont have to run everything in the virtual box, it will run programs in a vm sandbox while presenting them like they are running on 7.

A good example of what i mean, IE6 running in the xpmode vm while presenting as a normal program. As apposed to the normal vm method of an OS within a window:

If you're looking at gaming, it may be worth considering getting a more powerful Graphics Card. You could look into downgrading the Motherboard to the next model down, (the Crosshair is aimed at enthusiasts & overclockers) and use the spare cash to try a up the Graphics Card to a 5850 maybe?

Just my two pennies worth :)
