Hi my 1st post and new forum member.
I purchased a pcspecialist desktop a few years ago in 2007 and no probs until today.
The power button light is flashing rapidly and the pc wont turn on. Any ideas on what i need to do first to try and fix this.
Any help welcomed
Regards Tony

Could be a lot of things, dead GPU or RAM or more likely a bad piece fo software, can you not even gain access to safe mode? Do you hear a post-beep when you press the power button?

OK, here is another simple test, take the side panel off your computer, press the start button on the motherboard instead of on the case. Is there a light built into the power button itself? If so its unlikely to be this because itw ould then seem that the button has NOT come loose somehow form the motherboard connector.

Usually, its near the RAM, to the right of the motherboard. I say usually because with my rotten luck I bet yours wont be :p Sometimes its just a big red button with Start written on it, and Reset button is below.

Hi Tony, welcome.

Best bet is to give us a call when you are near to the machine, there are too many variables, a conversation would lead to a much quicker and more accurate diagnosis.
