Do exactly as it suggests, put in your disc and do a fresh install of Win7. Bit of a pain but looks like it may be a problem with sysprep. It what they use to reset PC back to first time use. Very occassionaly it goes wrong. Nothing to worry about though.

Just realised it's the hard disk

When you switch it on it says "No hard disk is detected" Then the error comes up.

Thanks for the replies by the way

Ok trying to reinstall win7 but am stuck

I get this (after scanning for drivers): "No signed device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media conains the correct drivers, and then click OK."

It wouldn't allow me to go further!

It's possible some connections came loose in transit, I suggest you take a look and make sure that everything still looks like it's connected up properly.

Everything seems ok inside the case

Win7 shows the disks on installation setup with all the partitions. But It doesn't allow me to install win7 on any of these partitions. This is what comes up.

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks"

Sorry guys but this is a pain :(

the instructions arent put there for the sake of it...

I think if he knew he should just follow the "instructions" he would have. He's just received a new pc and I would guess that he expected it to work out of the box. I'm sure the reason he asked for advice was because he was unsure how best to proceed. I doubt he was asking just "for the sake of it".

This may be a pc forum, but it doesn't mean we are all experts....I know I'm not that's for sure.

I just tried to ignore the ignorant comment.

I've been on it for hours and am knackered trying to solve these issues. As you said, i expected everything to work smoothly but this has been agony. :(

When you tried to reinstall did you first click on each HDD/SSD whatever you have and either format them or delete which removes the partition aswell if not you could try that.
