Rep Power Question

Hey, im not to good with forums but what does rep power do?
( ima noob i know ) Maybe you give me some cause im a noob at it?

Generally people are given rep if what they say is useful and helpful, so if a person has lots of rep its probably cos they've been useful and helpful quite a bit.

Also as you get more rep, when you give rep you give more, so for instance every time I give rep I actually give 6 points (I think, some number like that)
