RTX 3060 ti build

how long did people’s pc take from purchase to arrival at home with this cpu?
As the 3060TI is greyed out on the configurator, I imagine it might be a while. The link that @Caydrums has posted will be useful in determining an estimate for just how long you'll be waiting.

If you haven't already had your build checked over by the forum, I'd suggest doing so, we'll be able to make sure you're getting the best build for your money! We'll need your budget, monitor info (make & model or resolution & refresh rate) and what you plan to do with the PC. The full spec will also be needed. How to post this can be found here.

I’ve just upgraded to the RTX 3070, the wait time on the 3060 ti was looking at mid June minimum.

I want the pc mainly for gaming and then just general use.

I have the LG UltraGear 27GL83A-B (1440p 144hz)

I would prefer not to spend anymore than the total I have already spent (above) considering my original budget was 1400 but I kept going higher and higher 😂
Please let me know if I’ve made any fatal decisions as I’m very new to the Gaming PC world.

Hi Mate I've ended up pretty much rejigging your entire build

I went for a different case, one that's cheaper and will do the job. Went for a more suited motherboard to the CPU. Upped the speed of the RAM to make full use of the CPU and changed your storage to something that makes more sense.

I've also upped the PSU to extend the life of the computer and give you more room for upgrades and to add components and also changed the CPU cooler to something more tried and tested. Removed the thermal paste because the LiquidLite 240 comes with it's own high quality paste

If you wanted to keep it strictly on budget I would wait until the 3060Ti comes back into stock or source it elsewhere

There are a few mistakes, but we can get them ironed out for you! Budget wise, do you have an exact number we can work towards, it'll make it a lot easier for us.

Will you be doing any streaming or using any Ray Tracing? if not, you could look at the 6700XT. It's an offering from AMD that sits between the 60TI and 70, has a decent wait time (as in it's not too long) and is currently about £150 cheaper!

Thanks STEVE! And I would really like a good quality pc that can handle ray tracing and 100+ FPS in games at 1440p (not all games ofcourse, I understand some games require the highest end pcs for this, but standard non pc breaking games). I’d say 1800 max Junior 😊

No problem mate,

I've a similar build to the one I linked above with a 3060Ti in it and I'm getting high frame rates at 1440p at max settings on pretty much everything I'm playing at the minute. The only exception being Cyberpunk but I don't think that counts as it's a mess

For example I'm currently please Red Dead Redemption 2 at max setting 1440p with RTX on and I'm getting highs of around 112 and lows of around 82 in terms of FPS

They are just the sort of rates I want! in regards to what I have already built, considering I’ve purchased it, would I actually have any performance problems from my choices ?

Oh fair enough, why is the memory on the “M.SSD” drives 1 and 2, is this different than the ordinary storage drive?

Just had a play with @Steveyg 's build to try and get down to your £1,800 budget it as it's a considerable amout higher.

I've swapped the Samsung SSD for a Seagate one. It's still Gen 4 so will still give lightning fast speeds and removed the CPU cooler, the 5600X runs fine without. You could also remove the extra fan if you were really pinching pennies.

Oh fair enough, why is the memory on the “M.SSD” drives 1 and 2, is this different than the ordinary storage drive?
M.2 SSD's are a different form factor drive the '1st and 2nd storage drive' options need wires to connect for power and data transfer and are often kept in the PSU shroud. M.2's are drives that are installed straight into the motherboard with a screw, meaning no wires! They are also able to offer incredible speeds for not much more than conventional 2.5 inch SSD's. The top end of a SATA SSD tends to be 650mb/s read, compared to a similarly priced M.2 which is around 2000mb/s. You can also spend more and get considerably faster drive. The one in this spec has a 5000mb/s read and the Samsung ones go up to 7K I believe.

M2 drives are much much faster than the old HDD and the newer SSD

They are a newer format of SSD but massively quick, the reason for two is that the smaller faster one is for your operating system and the other is for your games. It lets you separate the storage making it much more flexible

Can’t thank you guys enough for the help and advice I really appreciate it! @JUNIOR, I’m happy to pay that bit extra for the changes (thank you @Steveyg for the original optimisation), but, would the case matter that much, aesthetics are definitely a big contributing factor to how I would like my PC.

The original case you linked is a fantastic case, infact I'd say it's better than the one both me and Junior listed but we were trying to save a few £ for you.

If you really that case and don't mind the cost go for it!

EDIT: Ash beat me by half a second
