This is great news. Yodel were next to useless. DPD's customer service is much better and they don't blatantly lie to you on the phone. Good move PCS!

PC has finally been delivered,
DPD was here when they said they would be.
Driver turned up in an unmarked van and I needed to help him carry the box in.
I asked if I can sign as unchecked and he said no [made a note on my account and called PCS to advise].
Tape on the box was damaged but everything inside looked ok.

Will post on the desktop section with feedback on the PC later when i have time to put everything together.

I'm very annoyed so far, my PC was built friday and on saturday it said it was dispatched, i think that was a mistake though as it didnt give me any numbers. Anyway, monday came along and it had been dispatched i got a parcel number and looked on the website, monday afternoon, it was still in LEEDS! which is miles away from me, and ive checked today, when it should have been delivered and its still in LEEDS! which means i probably wont even get it until thursday unless it travels here overnight, I'm very annoyed, luckily, its a christmas present so I won't be getting it for a while but I didn't want this to be unheard of because of it, it makes planning things a lot harder as well

Yes that what should've been expected, any dispatches on Saturday only get logged into the depot in Leeds on the Monday (normally afternoon/evening time).

and ive checked today, when it should have been delivered and its still in LEEDS!
I would've actually expected it to be with you today if it was logged as being in Leeds on Monday night. So this is slightly odd. This may require PCS looking into it.

unless it travels here overnight
All the distance travelling is done overnight.

PS. Calm down, it's not the end of the world :)

yeh im not sure what time it was logged into leeds as i didnt look until the evening but it does say 5:51pm collected from sender

any sort of compensation i can get from this from DPD, dont want to cause any harm to PCS just wanna phone up and have a rant and hopefully get something from it, although 99% unlikely there is a chance it will be delivered today as they finish at 6 but then again i havent got my 1hr of delivery

although the dartford bridge is really bad and usually takes a couple of hours to get over it during they day, perhaps this has something to do with it, its effectively going right past my house over the bridge just to come back again

TOWIE!!

If you haven't recieved anything telling you it's out for delivery, it is not.

Chances of any compensation for it being delayed = 0.

Remember the next day delivery would only get it to you today at the soonest anyways, so it's not even technically late yet (although if the tracking says it's still at the Leeds depot it wont get to you today).

If it still claims to be in Leeds in the morning, you might want to see where it is (either by talking to PCS or DPD), but barging in demanding compensation will most likely get you ignored rather than getting a helpful response.

To compensation...not sure if serious...

3782 posts Wozza and you haven't picked up from threads that these things happen and they get sorted?

I'd be immeasurably surprised if you got anything from DPD for what will amount to a few days lateness at most.

And as Rakk said, calm the ____ down! :D

Didn't want to send a question via the queries email as I think my parcels due tomorrow (not sure if this is the right place to post) but my tracking number wont work for my order on the DPD website, only got sent the message about 2 - 3 hours ago, maybe it hasn't processed yet?

@grumle, if you aint heard anything tomorrow by email or text, call up pcs. that's always your best way of getting a response.

The forums are great, but the admins and staff will be very busy time of year, also as this is not an official channel of support you may not get a answer as quick as a phonecall.

If you check the waiting times before you call, you can minimise your phone costs.

Good service from DPD, came pretty well bang in the middle of the hour time slot. Seemed to be a sub-contractor though, even so package came undamaged. All is well.

I paid for the pre-12 morning delivery. DPD texted me at 11am to say they would be delivering within the hour. They delivered at one minute past 12! I'm in central London in an area that isn't easy to navigate if you're unfamiliar, due to one-way systems, traffic control etc, so I think I can forgive a minute's delay. ;) :)

I was also able to track the package from PCS to when it was loaded onto the DPD truck, which was useful. :)

Where things did go slightly off kilter was in communications with PCS regarding the day of delivery. When I placed my order I asked if I could arrange a particular weekday for delivery, as I wasn't going to be home some days. PCS told me to call back to arrange this when the order was in Quality Control or Awaiting Dispatch. Last Saturday week I got an email telling me the pc was In Testing, so I decided to phone on the Monday (as there's no customer support on Sat afternoon or Sun, and QC and AW are listed as taking a couple of days) to arrange delivery on Friday - the only day I was intending to be home.

Early Monday morning, still in bed, I got a text, then email, from PCS telling me my pc had already been dispatched to DPD for delivery. It didn't yet show on DPD's tracking system so I called PCS and arranged for delivery to be delayed till Friday. I also asked for an email confirmation, which was agreed, but never arrived.

Well, as I said (phew! this is going on a bit!) DPD delivered on Thurs, not Fri. It was sheer chance that I was near home when they texted and was able to run back in time to take the delivery.

So a slight miscomm there, with PCS. But this is not intended to be a rant. Overall I'm very happy. My pc was built and delivered within two weeks of placing my order. I haven't had time to really put it through it's paces yet but I have completed basic setup, connected to the web, installed and run a couple of apps and programs, and it really seems to be a magnificent beast. Very fast, smooth performance; extremely quiet running, beautiful graphics. Just what I'd hoped it would be.

Hopefully I'll be able to really put it through its paces at the weekend. And apart from that one relatively minor hiccup, great work PCS! :) :)

Really impressed with DPD. Great tracking system. Got emails and texts from both DPD and PCSpecialist :) I got a text from DPD saying my timeslot was 13:15 till 14:15. Not lying, came at 13:15 :p definitely use them again :)

My experience of DPD's service was a pleasant one. Tracking info continually updated, sent a text with an (accurate) one hour delivery window, driver was pleasant, and arrived completely intact.

10 out of 10 for DPD from me!

PC Specialist: Great. DPD, however...

Suck.

This is the second time DPD have messed about on a delivery. Payed 20 quid for a Saturday delivery and they didn't even ring the doorbell. Oh they are horrendous. The depot is nearly 40 miles away, too. I rang them up straight away but they still couldn't settle it by getting the consignment delivered today.

PC Specialist are great. A full laptop built and dispatched in less than a week but, obviously, I haven't a chance to use the thing yet as DPD failed to deliver.

I'd suggest a call to PCS,

I assume they did attempt delivery?

Yeah, I gave them and DPD a ring. DPD left a card, they just didnt ring the bell! (checked it, too)
PC Specialist said they were going to send the driver a message to try a redelivery today, otherwise it would be when I'm next available.
