Thanks for the help with this and my Operating System question before. I'll sit here patiently and find something to do for the next few days.Tisk tisk making me actually search for your order and then it moves. Good to see its moving along now. Just a small wait now before testing and QC!
6/7 working days in pre-production stage. On 7th it was built, on 8th tested and on 9th QCed, which was Friday. On saturday it was awaiting to get dispatched and today is 10th working day in total, awaiting dispatch since Saturday.
I was expecting it to be dispatched since the early morning, but the afternoon is already here and makes me wonder why it wasn't dispatched yet. Really hope it will be dispatched today. I asked in the customer support and was told it will more than likely get dispatched today and I will receive it tomorrow, hope that's true.
According to the order chart "Normally your order will be dispatched the same day providing your order reaches this status before 3pm". I deduce from this that your computer will be dispatched after 3pm and you will more likely receive it tomorrow !
And from what you said I could expect mine by Friday ! In testing today, hopefully QC'ed tomorrow... then with no errors (fingers crossed!!!) dispatched wednesday/thursday... For who wonders I am on my "13th working day".
My laptop is now in it's 16th day of pre-production! I understand that this is probably a very busy time for PCS, but twice now I have been told by support that my laptop would be put into production that afternoon and this has obviously not been the case.
The first working day should count as today if you upgraded to fast track last night - as far as I know.My order is on its 5th working day (pre production for 3 days now) and last night I decided to upgrade it to fast track! Although I'm not sure when that actually starts!
I'm currently sitting at 13th working day in pre-production..... getting a little bit frustrated honestly. I spoke to an adviser on the chat on the 7th working day, as I was under the impression it might take a bit longer due to the high-end nature of the components (I've dealt with smaller boutique system builders before and when ordering high-end components it added a week to the lead-time which I wondered if was the case here), but was informed that all components were available and I was in the queue for building.
I contacted the sales team again this Monday (22nd) and they apologised for the delay and informed me that the system would go into production 'within 2-3 days' and be with me by the end of the week. Since it's not moved since then at all any hopes of it getting here before the weekend are gone.
I realise I hadn't paid for the fast-track service, but when you read on these very forums of people who had getting their machines within 4 days(!!) yet if you don't you're waiting almost 4 weeks, something is clearly amiss.
I think the main problem actually is that whilst it's in pre-prod it really is just in a big queue for building, whilst it is in the queue parts may be ordered in if not in stock, but generally that first stage really is just one big queue to go into building (afaik), though sometimes stock can hold things up if it doesn't come in when it is expected.I'm not having a go at PCSpecialist at all, it's just the fact it sits in 'pre-production' for a long time without any sign of movement. Perhaps if they modified the order tracking progress and split the 'pre-process' stage into mulitple smaller stages (e.g. acquiring parts, awaiting part arrival, in build queue etc) it might give customers more confidence.
