Twenty minutes after posting that and I receive an email saying that it has been built and is now awaiting testing. Why am I so impatient.

Tisk tisk making me actually search for your order and then it moves :p. Good to see its moving along now. Just a small wait now before testing and QC!

Thanks for the help with this and my Operating System question before. I'll sit here patiently and find something to do for the next few days.

My laptop is now in it's 16th day of pre-production! I understand that this is probably a very busy time for PCS, but twice now I have been told by support that my laptop would be put into production that afternoon and this has obviously not been the case.

6/7 working days in pre-production stage. On 7th it was built, on 8th tested and on 9th QCed, which was Friday. On saturday it was awaiting to get dispatched and today is 10th working day in total, awaiting dispatch since Saturday.

I was expecting it to be dispatched since the early morning, but the afternoon is already here and makes me wonder why it wasn't dispatched yet. Really hope it will be dispatched today. I asked in the customer support and was told it will more than likely get dispatched today and I will receive it tomorrow, hope that's true.

According to the order chart "Normally your order will be dispatched the same day providing your order reaches this status before 3pm". I deduce from this that your computer will be dispatched after 3pm and you will more likely receive it tomorrow ! ;)

And from what you said I could expect mine by Friday ! In testing today, hopefully QC'ed tomorrow... then with no errors (fingers crossed!!!) dispatched wednesday/thursday... For who wonders I am on my "13th working day".

As your forum account is not tied to your PCS account, PM me your order number and I will look into the delay for you.

Mine entered pre production today! It's only on it's 3rd day so I'm guessing I've still got at least two weeks :(

Your order went into building today Tomaird, sorry for the delay it should have gone into building on tuesday So i will look into the delay. Ill get it pushed into testing today for you.

I'm currently sitting at 13th working day in pre-production..... getting a little bit frustrated honestly. I spoke to an adviser on the chat on the 7th working day, as I was under the impression it might take a bit longer due to the high-end nature of the components (I've dealt with smaller boutique system builders before and when ordering high-end components it added a week to the lead-time which I wondered if was the case here), but was informed that all components were available and I was in the queue for building.

I contacted the sales team again this Monday (22nd) and they apologised for the delay and informed me that the system would go into production 'within 2-3 days' and be with me by the end of the week. Since it's not moved since then at all any hopes of it getting here before the weekend are gone.

I realise I hadn't paid for the fast-track service, but when you read on these very forums of people who had getting their machines within 4 days(!!) yet if you don't you're waiting almost 4 weeks, something is clearly amiss.

My order is on its 5th working day (pre production for 3 days now) and last night I decided to upgrade it to fast track! Although I'm not sure when that actually starts!

The first working day should count as today if you upgraded to fast track last night - as far as I know.

We do apologies about the delay, A large amount laptop orders have pushed our lead times back. We are putting in extra time to try and decrease the delay to customers. When any build is in the 'queue' it is very difficult to predict I am afraid but I will look into your order.

While it most certainly is a test of how much patience you actually have (I ordered on the 11th and am still in pre-production), it is so worth it once you get your laptop so don't be too hard on these guys. They work as hard as they can. My brother got all of his computers from here and swears by them. Next time though I will definitely be using fast track. I have no patience usually but I've seen my brothers systems so know these guys put out quality. So I will just keep checking till it moves to building and be happy that I'm getting a decent laptop from people who care about their customers.

I'm not having a go at PCSpecialist at all, it's just the fact it sits in 'pre-production' for a long time without any sign of movement. Perhaps if they modified the order tracking progress and split the 'pre-process' stage into mulitple smaller stages (e.g. acquiring parts, awaiting part arrival, in build queue etc) it might give customers more confidence.

I had a bad experience in the past where I placed an order with Kobalt Computers, where my order sat in pre-production for 5 weeks before the company went bust! I'm sure nothing like that is happening here, the internet speaks little but praise for PCSpecialist, but this makes me a little more anxious than I would normally be. :)

I too have been waiting 9 days in pre-production and have also been told twice that my desktop would go into build this week all to no avail. They did contact me today to tell me that the case I ordered is out of stock and will not be in until the 30th. There is a clear lack of communication between Jack Turner on the phones and the production department here as I was told yesterday on the phone that my order was going into building today. Frustrating. I was a little annoyed at this, but also I knew the case was out of stock when I ordered three weeks ago but they have had a delivery of them since then. They must have all been pre-ordered and sold before they arrived and I must have missed out. They offered to get the build done A.S.A.P this week if I changed my case, but I declined as I REALLY want the NZXT. The guy from PCS assured me that when the cases arrive on Tuesday mine will go straight into build and testing etc and will 'hopefully' ship the end of next week. I wait with baited breath...

I think the main problem actually is that whilst it's in pre-prod it really is just in a big queue for building, whilst it is in the queue parts may be ordered in if not in stock, but generally that first stage really is just one big queue to go into building (afaik), though sometimes stock can hold things up if it doesn't come in when it is expected.

I would agree with that Rakk. I've bought from PCS before and have been very happy with the service and quality of their builds. My issue is with the lack of communication or rather misinformation in my case. When you buy a custom built PC you have to be prepared to wait and PCS can't build a desktop if there's no case for them to put in! If their suppliers let them down there's no much they can do, but they can keep the customers informed.

After being in its 1st full day of my upgraded fast track 5 day option and its 4th day of overall pre production, I'm hoping to see some movement on it tomorrow! Curse my over excited-ness hahaha
