Wasn't sure where to post this but how's the GPU stock for pc specialist?

They're unlikely to change over the holidays, but may change before Saturday. The prices are live and adjust based on market variations which over the past year have been crazy.

But if you save a quotation, that price is valid for 5 days no matter what changes.
I see! thanks for the info.

At this point it’d be better to go through the conventional Budget, Uses, Monitor instead of just naming a list of parts of you’re looking for spec help. We’d be more than happy to help if that’s the case.

These are at ultra-quality so a worst case scenario, 1080p should just abou get you there on high and it might be possible on 1440p, although unless it’s purely for MSFS I’d never recommend a 3070 for 1080p.

Before you order, remember to put your spec in the Check your spec thread along with answering the questions re budget, monitor, usage etc in there and you will get the best advice ever from people on here on optimising that PC within your budget (or you will get some advice on needing more money depending on usage etc of course).

Hey guys! Merry Christmas, I’m sure you’re getting a few questions from lots of people who bought a PC for Christmas this year but I’m here just about to order, I found that the RTX 3070 is now on pre order only. How long is the estimated wait time for a 3070 PC?? Thanks and have a lovely day.

You’d have to wait now and call PCS for an idea as we don’t work for them just volunteer on here.

Hey again everyone, when I buy the pc will PCS send me an email to tell me when they expect the PC to arrive at your house? Or is it just a standard email telling you that your order has gone through etc.

You’ll get update emails as your order progresses through the order process. And when it’s dispatched they’ll provide tracking info for whatever courier company is delivering it.

Thought I’d let you guys know I have ordered my PC! It’s estimated to be built in 14-16 working days and delivery takes 1 working day but if I’m lucky it’ll get here sooner :)

Brilliant! Ordering a pre-order GPU will likely slow it down and I remember you mentioning wanting the 3070. What spec did you go for?

There’s a couple of areas we could adjust here if you’d like the advice. If you would could we get the typical budget, uses, monitor info, please?

I’m in total agreement with this. Here’s some suggestions to make the system a better all-rounder:

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 5000X RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE - Larger case which should allow clearance over the RGB RAM to still have the cooler radiator top mounted
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i5 10-Core Processor i5-12600KF (3.7GHz) 20MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready - Better mid-range motherboard with WiFi connectivity built in
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (4 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070 - HDMI, DP, LHR - Really not worth paying over the odds for a GPU that gives you minimal performance gains over a standard 3070. You could have a standard 3070Ti for the same price as the Asus 3070! Although this may all be moot if you’re gaming on a 1080p monitor…
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE - General storage for documents, music, videos etc
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 530 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 3000MB/W) - Insanely fast primary drive for your OS and programs, will boot in seconds and be snappy and responsive in day to day operation
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) - Additional M.2 drive for games and projects, will be useful when DirectStorage becomes fully operational
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - Superior, fully modular PSU with more headroom for future GPU upgrades. 650w is very close to the limit now and the next generation of graphic cards are likely to be drawing even larger amounts of power
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H115i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler - Intel processors have always run on the hotter side. The new ones aren’t quite as comical but you really want to ensure you’ve got a quality cooling system on hand. The FrostFlow series are a bit of a professional enigma, we don’t know enough about them to recommend them. I’d always err on the side of caution and go high end so your system doesn’t end up being thermally throttled
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING - As a little bonus, Corsair coolers already come with top quality paste, no need for the MX-4 here

Now you’ve not included any further spec after this point but here’s a few additional points of interest..

Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001] - Windows 11 is still in its infancy so I’d be sticking with good old reliable Windows 10 for now
Operating System Language
United Kingdom - English Language
Windows Recovery Media
Windows 10/11 Multi-Language Recovery Image - Unlimited Downloads from Online Account
Office Software
FREE 30 Day Trial of Microsoft 365® (Operating System Required)
Anti-Virus
NO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE - Third party AV is rubbish and tends to cause more problems than it solves when it comes to system stability. Windows Defender does a really good job and is all you need
Browser
Firefox™ - Because we hate Chrome
Warranty
3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) - If something goes wrong it’s usually within the first year, an extra fiver spend on the warranty is peace of mind should that happen
Delivery
STANDARD INSURED DELIVERY TO UK MAINLAND (MON-FRI)

Standard Build - Subject to stock availability on pre-order products
Price: £2,159.00 including VAT and Delivery
