Also they said today on the online chat that it will go into the building stage in 1-2 days.
So hopefully tomorrow or on Thursday at most, but dispatch will happen only at the beginning of next week.

I'm a slightly more recent order than the rest of you, but I ordered on the 18th, entered pre-production on the 19th. The estimate I got was the 9th of February. I've noticed a few odd things: 1) it's been in pre-production for over a week now, which seems long, though I guess this could happen. I also have stopped receiving any estimated build date emails, and it seems the average dispatch time for laptops on the sight is increasing drastically every day (when I ordered it was at 10.5 days or something close, now it's at 15.6 days). I'm curious as to if somethings gone badly wrong tbh.

I'm in the same boat - ordered 17/01, went into pre-production 19/01 and has remained there since. Got an email stating it'd be ready for 8th February and heard nothing since. I phoned PCS yesterday and they explained that they are a little backlogged at the moment but that my laptop should be with me by early next week. Hope so as my current laptop is dying and I can't wait to get my hands on my shiny new machine!
Unfortunately I'm in the slightly worse situation of currently having no laptop at all, while being a computer science student. Needless to say, I need it as soon as possible

If you need it ASAP you may want to consider the fast track if you can - it's generally a lot quicker.

BTW I got an email from them when they changed the status today from pre-production to building. So if Your status changes You are going to get a notification for sure. In my experience, they estimate pretty accurately when You call or chat with them.

Friday may be a bit optimistic on my part there. But I am hopeful, if it ends up being Monday next week I (through no direct fault of PCS) won't be able to actually receive the laptop for another week and a half and it'll frustratingly just end up sat, boxed up at my office until I get back from my business jolly (which is really going to suck).
This totals an effective 3 weeks from point or order to point of delivery. Not too bad considering all the difficulties PCS were in a fortnight ago!
Things to take away from this, well, looks like any bottlenecks leading into Test have now been resolved. And looking at other posters in this thread it appears the lead-time is starting to drop considerably now too. All in all, from my perspective it looks like things are starting
to get back to normal now and February should be pretty much back to BAU.
Edit: Forgot to include actual figures on working days. In total this is 14 working days and from what I've gleamed from the forums I think I happened to order at the worst possible moment and so you should be able to consider 14 working days as the upper boundary for in-flight orders. 'New' orders should be a lot closer to their original estimates

I don't think it's optimistic, based on my timescale it should make it for Friday, unless your delivery address is in the middle of nowhere!

I did consider this, however I wasn't sure how it would work asking for the fast track post-order, and also whether it is necessary would depend on how long it might take otherwise - I can handle another week without a laptop, another 3 would be too long

What sort of build was yours if you dont mind me asking?
Same process dates and pre production as mine. think ill make a call tomorrow if no change as that seems to be making movement for some people.
