Yus, I check at least 4x a day for changes, lol

Quick question for people, i'll try googling the answer also but here it is;
The sound card I ordered, (creative fatal1ty champion one) doesn't appear to have a USB connection for headset or w/e on it & the headset I bought, uses USB. Will I lose performance from plugging it into a USB 2.0/3.0 slot, over connecting it directly to the soundcard's front connections for mic/speaker? or will I still get the enhanced audio quality at the same level coming through my headset?

You still get the enhanced quality as the sound card still processes the sound.

It's a little quirke of mine, but I refuse to use onboard sound whenever possible, it tends to be of average quality and eats up a lot of motherboard resources that should be put into making my game looks pretty.

The actual card isn't at the front of the PC, that's just some basic controls, the card that does the work plugs into the motherboard and is a boring looking little black rectangle thingy, but it's worth it. :)

I have used the soundcard you bought, trust me, it's excellent and you really do notice the difference over onboard or cheapo soundcards.

The soundcards front connections are just mainly for convenience, the ports are easier to get to, the volume control means you can change the volume in game without having to tab out to do it in windows or use the game settings.

woot, thank you for the clear & quick response.

I wasn't sure if there was an advantage in sound running it directly into the sound card, rather than plugging it into the USB - & as USB is the only option on my headset, I wanted to make sure =)

The motherboard soundcard gets turned off in the BIOS when you're running another card anyways, so all sound goes through your Creative Fatal1ty :)

Nice set-up Usukane, very similar to my eagerly anticipated box of fun. I'll keep an eye on your build progress as I'm a couple of days behind you. I'm also just up the road from you in north Notts :)

id recommend changing to a Z68 board, either the maximus or p8z68, they are much better boards and much better equipped

Just got off the phone w/PCS, they were out of 750GB Caviar Black HDDs, so i've had to upgrade to the 1TB. Kind of annoying because I had phoned them on Friday to check all my parts were in stock & was told they were & I might get the PC delivered this Friday, which won't be happening now xD

I'm still hopeful i'll get the PC delivered earlier rather than later, next week.

Just woke up, PC should be here today.

Going to busy myself with playing the lolXbox360 in my living room, along with many cups of tea.
I agree there have been many issues with Yodel posted on here & online. I saw a website that scored them 1/5 stars out of almost 600 reviews & some of the reviews were seriously scarypants - however i'm still reasonably confident it'll arrive & in 1 piece.

Will post the standard review + pics once i've set it up, but my experience with PCS thus far has been pretty good. The only issues i've had were with stock.

First stock issue as the Radeon 6990, which i'm not counting as an issue as it clearly said PRE-ORDER & I had that selected for about a week & then changed to the dual 6970s as there still was no word on them coming in - totally not PCS fault at all, they were very clear about not knowing when they might recieve stock & offered me the option to buy third party & send one in.

The only real stock issue I had was with my HDD choice. (750GB Caviar Black) I had phoned up on the friday just over a week ago, checking that everything was in stock after switching to the 6970s & was told it was & that I might recieve the PC the following Friday. The following week however, I recieved an email saying the 750s were now out of stock & wouldn't be in til the 4th, so I had to either upgrade or wait which was slightly annoying after phoning them specifically to check my order was in stock & 'okay'. My argument was basically once an order is paid for, the items should be put to one side regardless of whether it's gone through to the building stage or not.

However, despite this - once I upgraded it went right into building & they're only going to miss their proposed delivery by 1 working day which is top-notch. Today is the 20th day since ordering, 13 working days + 6 weekend days then the delivery day (today). In my opinion that's very reasonable & the only issue is with my own natural impatience.

So long as it arrives & works as it should, I will indeed be recommending them to friends & family - as nobody should buy their PC from places such as PCWorld. I bought a £2,500 PC from them around 5 years ago & all the parts were sub-par & it basically performed worse than something I could have built myself for half the price. They also heckled me for around 30 minutes after buying, trying to get me to buy the full insurance/warranty package as they get commission on that.

Long post, but that's basically my experience through the PCSpecialist order > build > wait, now all that's left is obtaining the PC & making sure it all works & then popping some heads online etc & finally being able to play games such as Dead Island, which i've had Pre-Ordered on Steam since 2 months+ ago =)

Hope it turns up nice and early for you and everything is ok ;)

I have heard the best way of getting the yodel van driver to stop is to wait outside your house with an E.M.P as they seem to stop the vans for some reason :D

Booted up fine, it looks totally gorgeous xD was ALOT bigger than I was expecting - had to move my 10 gallon fish tank to where my desktop is supposed to go & the desktop is now taking an entire corner of the desk but w/e, it's lushhh.

Currently installing programs, including Steam + games etc.
The side panel of my case which has the huge led fan didn't come plugged in so i'll figure out how to do that (yes i'm that useless). But to be honest, i'm loving the look of it with the side off, are there any issues keeping it that way? lol

Mine is in building so not too long to wait now. Hope everything goes smoothly with setting up and looking forward to seeing pics and reading a review once you have some games loaded up.

Took a few pics, however they look pretty pewp as the flash made it impossible to see any of the interior lighting etc lol will take some more tonight when it's dark & leave the flash off - as imo these pics look pretty ugly xD but you get the idea of how it looks!

Also, the radiator (I think it is) seems to have several damaged bits on the grill. Does this matter at all? If it doesn't change how the PC performs I don't really mind to be honest. I added a pic of that, also.

Pics heeereeeee - http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e164/FFXait/Doodles/

Edit: My kitty approved ^______________^
