You'd do a lot better with an AMD build, see the link below that explains why

Hi there, before we give any advice, we'll need to know your budget, what you'll be using the PC for and what monitor(s) you have (make and model or resoultion and refresh rate).

I must also be honest in saying that for the vast majority of use cases, Intel is a bad choice and AMD is killing it. So it's likely we'll suggest a cancel of your order and a swap to an AMD build. For more info, I'd check out this thread:

Hi mate, can you include the configurable link. See below link on how to do that. Personally I'd be looking for a better CPU cooler for that CPU and I'd alter your storage. The 850W PSU is only a couple pound more so I'd go for that too and the silver warranty for a fiver is a no brainer

My bad, I didn't see the edit to AMD and didn't realise you could swap like that. The PCS rep that allowed you to do it must have been having a good day!

We'll still need to know the info that I've asked for above. Also the configurable link would be very useful to us, how to post this can be found here

Yes going to get the silver but its £19 not £5 I will see what else comes back and can amend accordingly I am only 50 Days in so have plenty of time to save up what I can. cheers

There was a problem with my original order's motherboard, due to this I was able to sort the AMD change through the chat, very helpful and was really quick. overall I hope its a better machine. Thanks Matt

Maybe the silver warranty depends on the country your ordering it too? But Silvers always been £5 in my experience mate, sorry might be misinformed on that one

We've had issues like this before in the PCS Discord, I'm sure a call or live chat would fix the issue!

@MattBailey959 Also what's your budget, use case and monitors? That info would useful so we can advice on the spec

Monitor I am using now is MSI MAG322CQR 1440 165 HZ will be looking at a decent 4k but not for a while use for mainly gaming and work.
Budget is what I can save up for between now and delivery date

Do you know when that 4K upgrade will be? If it's more than 6-9 or so months away, you could save some time and money in getting a GPU that's suitable for your current monitor which looks to be 1440p 165hz. Something like a 6700XT or 3070 would be a good choice. That would also allow the budget to open up for spend in other areas.

And a figure for your budget would be helpful. As the prices are so volatile, I have no idea what you paid for the PC so I can't really gauge what the budget actually is. How much would you be willing to spend in total, today? If you come up with more funds then we can adjust the build accordingly.

So cost of computer above is £2500 4k monitor will be when I get into build date, budget is not that important. would rather upgrade along the way though, longer delivery maybe the more I will upgrade, monitor's are not cheap so will hold back some funds for that.
My original spec was a pcs recommendation, mistake was not posting before placing order, but pleased I am over to AMD from intel now.

So an appropriate monitor alone would be around £1200

If we say £3000 for the upgrades?

we really need a figure to work to.

Sorry for all the questions but a couple I should've asked earlier.

"mainly for gaming" do you plan to do any streaming ,video editing, design work or anything along those lines? And what games do you plan to play?

What does "work" entail? Is it simply Zoom calls, emails and word docs or does it require specialist software that would require particulary beefy PC hardware?

Then the 4K monitor, what will the refresh rate be? 60hz? 144hz?

So maybe more confusion on my part, When I first posted spec after order I was told AMD not Intel, after lots of research (after ordering i know) everything pointing to AMD which unless starting from scratch, was not an easy option to change, after an issue with the motherboard and the help of PCS I was able to make the move over to AMD so re-posted this, I am hoping with the changes It is already a better computer overall, but if a few tweaks are needed I will have time before build. I have gone for the 3080 because of 4K and not in too much of a rush. and I have always been told to buy the best spec in computers you can afford at the time, Thanks

It will be a whole new world for gaming, and a mixed bag from warzone to MSFS and lots in between
Corel draw is probably the hardest to run on my laptop for work, not too much extra there
4K will be 144hz

I have not had a great computer before that could handle any type of video editing so I would have this option along with streaming with one computer if required.

Thanks

This should be one pretty ballin' PC

For gaming and streaming the Ryzen 7 5800X would be a great choice, I'd only recommend a 5900X if video editing was your primary use, but for the occasional edit it should be perfectly adequate. For the 5800X, the TUF X570 is perfectly fine. For streaming, video editing and MSFS you'll benefit from the 32GB of RAM so I've kept your inital selection in there. For storage, I've had a little play and gone for a super fast 500GB Gen 4 SSD for Windows and programs, then a 2nd 1TB M.2 SSD for your games which will be considerably faster than a SATA SSD. For general files I've stuck in a 2TB HDD as they don't benefit from being on a fast drive. the RMx850 is the top of the line PSU and the one you want for this system. I've upgraded the cooler to the Capellix cooler as it's a top of the line AIO that will keep the 5800X icy cool.

That brings it to a total of £2,543 which is a little over your £2,500 budget but not by much. I think the only question I have around this build is if the 1TB SSD will be enough for your games. Having mentioned Warzone and MSFS, they're two very large file games so you may want to upgrade to the Corsair 2TB SSD if you feel 1TB won't be enough. That will add about £110 to the price
