[Making a new PC] I would like some help please

I am new to PC building, I have made one in the past but I was very silly and got parts that are not compatible with eachother and so on, it gets VERY loud playing just about any game, in the summer, it's even worse it sounds like it's going to explode.

I am using this site for the first time, customising my PC, the problem is, It looks amazing, however, I do not know if this will be very loud and terrible, all i know is the specs, and how it looks like.

These are my specs that I have chosen, it's nice that PC Specialist tell you if everything is compatible with eachother. I have done some research, the cooling fans should be about 200mm but i could not find an option like that, do PC Specialist tell you if your PC is going to be very quiet? I would like mine as silent as a snake!

Hey there! As @Martinr36 pointed out in his linked threads, we'll need some info first. 1) what's the budget/ max you're willing to spend? 2) What will the PC be used for? If it's gaming, what sort of games will you be playing? If it's for work, are there any specialist programs you need to run we should be awre of? and 3) What monitor will it be connected to? Either make and model or resolution AND refresh rate.

Also, posting a screenshot isn't the most efficent way of recieving advice, I'd recommend sharing your setup to the forum in text form and including the link! A thread on how to do this is here

As Martin also pointed out, apart from a very few acceptions, we would recommend an AMD build for just about everything. If you'd like to have a go at one yourself, feel free, if you'd like us to spec one for you, let us know.

Thank you very much! The case looks very nice indeed, I do not want any HDDs because i've had many in the past that have gone wrong, they also have moving parts and they make more noise, I will swap this to a SDD if I can.
I am not sure if intel is better, but thanks for showing me this build because it's cheaper and it lets me save some money!
For some reason, I like intel better just because I find it easier to understand, but at the moment i'm still thinking if i should swap to Ryzens

Fair enough, if you want to switch from a HDD to an SSD that's your prerogative, it'll just be a little bit more expensive. :)

I would encourage you to give the thread linked above by @Martinr36 a read to see why we recommend AMD over Intel. It's not because we're AMD fanboys, it's due to the fact that in the past few years AMD have made massive performance gains with their CPUs and are now beating Intel across the board.

Please could you clarify what the build is for? I had assumed gaming with a 1080p monitor with an emphasis on quietness based on your original post and the GPU you selected; we may need to make a couple of small edits based on your more specific use case, and your budget. :)

There's literally no noticeable difference in running AMD to Intel on a day-to-day basis, to be honest. It feels exactly the same in general usage. Except it's cooler and less full of security flaws... :D

No problem, and my build is for PC gaming, I have a 1920x1200 monitor, I want to play games on that setting, I also want to do some video editing and some streams, but I reckon intel is good enough because I only want to do 1080p videos max, nothing crazy like 4K, but still I will consider swapping to AMD and read the info given

The games that i would like to play are quite demanding, but I can see that the PC ideas I gave and you gave will run them with flying colours. All games I would like to play maximum settings,

Mortal Kombat 11,
Dead By Daylight,
Resident Evil 8
all the past resident evils and more.

I have done lots of research about PCs, GPU's, Fans, SSD, CPU's and all, i'm almost nearly there to buy a gaming PC.

One issue is that the cases available have only like 2 USB slots, I was really impressed by a case I chose because it had very nice cooling ventilation, and good looking, but i realised that it only has 2 USB slots.

I need at least 5 to be honest.

I want to swap to wired mouse and keyboard, I have an xbox 1 controller, and a USB headset. And I also have some speakers in case the headset is not plugged and I use speakers.

So that's 5 USB ports I need. A lot of the cases don't even have 5, and the ones that do are way too expensive to be honset.

The PC i am using now has 4 USB 2.0 ports at the front, and 3 more at the back. I thought it was standard to have at least 4 at the front, how on earth can i sort this out?

Well having more on the front you basically just need to select a case with more slots.... but pretty much ALL modern motherboards will have more than 3 on the rear so for things you don't need to unplug regularly, just plug them in at the rear?

The rear usb's are not mentioned in the case statistics because it depends on your motherboard selection.

Do you have a build in mind we can look at the specs with you if you do?

Thank you for clearing that up, does that mean if the case does not say that it has it in the product description, I should still be good as the motherboard provides the extra ones at the back? or i can just google the motherboard i have seletected to find out exactly how much more USB slots will be available and work it out?

Bare in mind i would love to have it very silent and very powerful, would this be very silent with the cooling and case that I have chosen?

My current build is this - it may change a bit later on because i'm still doing research.

The advice you've previously received is sound.

Intel are really poor CPU's these days and should be avoided at all costs, they're about half the performance for the same money as an AMD equivalent.

Best to read up on this before continuing any further:

Oh yes, sorry about that, I did get advice beforehand, I need to make some changes on my quote, I am far from ordering my PC, it will take a while and I have a lot to change. I reckon that I would end up changing to AMD because I have heard from many people that AMD's Ryzen's are much better.

If you're on a desktop or laptop browser, you can click on the little ( i ) in the circle on the right and scroll to find your motherboard you've picked. It'll tell you how many USB ports it has. (And if you're on your phone, rotate it to be landscape and they should appear)

Also may I say that for most instances Intel is a bad choice these days and we'd highly recommend AMD (more info here). Along with that from what I can see there's a lot I'd change aside from Intel to AMD switch. If you'd like us to recommend changes, We'll need to know your budget, the monitor you're using (Make and Model or Resolution AND Refresh rate) and what you'll be using the PC for

I'd recommend a read of this thread as its full if helpful tips(particularly the one about how to post your specs to the forum)

When you say 'far from ordering my PC' do you mean months? PC part prices are very volatile at the moment and I've seen a £1,300 build change to a £1,400 overnight meaning the PC you spec now could cost something totally different in a couple months when the market hopefully settles.

If you're looking to buy now then we can continue to give recommendations, if you're not going to buy for a while, I'd recommend picking this thread back up when you are as so much could change between now and a weeks time, let alone a few months

As I said, read those threads, there's a lot of information in them which you need to know about this whole process.

I will change a lot of things, my budget is about 2,000 pounds. My monitor is a NEC MultiSync EA244QMi which is 60 Hz, I might get a new one soon but that will be much later. The resolution is 1920x1200.
I would like to use the PC for gaming, as well as video editing. The games - I would like to play new ones that are modern and very advnaced like Resident Evil 8.
