As long as you use an anti-static wristband there shouldn't be any static damage caused to any of the internal components.

But am still unsure about the warranty, what if the dvd drive causes problems because the motherboard and the dvd drive dont go together or something and then something breaks..i have lost my warranty then =(...i hope one of the mods reply.

How would i know if the ide drive would cause a problem,so basically meaning i cant put it in =(

IDEport.jpg

Very easy to add an IDE drive on this motherboard ^

Unlike on my ASUS R3 where there is no IDE port, im having to use an adapter which doesnt quite fit in my case so I have rto leave the back off if I need files off my old disc :p

"there is absolutely no chance you can void your warranty"..slienous your a savior :D. But am still unsure about static charge, should i buy a wristband and then connect it to the pc case?

Btw my pc is awaiting dispatch atm :D

edit:Sorted out problems with matthew griffin at sales advice( a thank you to him). So far i have decided not to change the cpu cooler as stock seems good enough and also decided to add one more 120mm fan. He said there shouldn't be any problems when install an ide drive or fan.

Also i would also like to ask a question to pcspec customers. When you got ur pc,did it have the stickers of all the brands used like amd and ati etc and also did you get the boxes of these products and manual

@slienous: do you use a anti static wristband and thats it?

Thanks

Thanks for quick reply yet again slienous, great case with all those sticker...am just like you i love stickers but only the ones related to my comp ofc :D. Sent message to pc specialist amend order department:

Hello,i just wanted to ask if i can get all the boxes and stickers that came with the products so i can stick it on my case. Basically i just want all the packaging the products came in since am a box/sticker holic. Plus i would like any manuals, basically everything :p...ofc i dont want the case box i dont think :D. If you guys can sent me this with my pc i would greatly appreciate it and it has to be soon as my order is awaiting dispatch :/

Ps: Wasnt sure if the department was amend order

Hopefully one of the mods at the forums see this and can act on it quickly :/

On the anti static ordeal i thing £20 is a bit much for a mat and a strap....i don't see what the advantages are with the extra mat :/. Also on your link i dont get how u connect the mat into the socket to ground it :/

This would be fine woudnt it? : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Anti-static-W...731?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e5be451fb

I was thinking attach the strap to the case and then plug psu in and turn off the psu and socket plug

We buy OEM products where availiable so stickers are few and far between, anything that came with the components will be in your welcome box by default, thats how we roll.

Got a reply from Wayne today that he would sent me the relevant stickers, but he also said that i woudnt get the boxes since they are oem,i sent a reply saying this is fine and i would be happy with the stickers as the manuals and drivers were dispatched with the pc. So that matter is sorted, but the matter i needed help with is "I was thinking attach the strap to the unpainted part of the case and then plug psu in and turn off the psu and socket plug" ...this was for the static wrist strap to attach 1 case fan and 1 ide dvd drive.

Thanks gorman :D

Yes thats fine if you have a static strap to hand.

Theres very little that can go wrong here, ground yourself on something metal after taking off any nylon / wooly jumpers socks etc and dont touch anything that looks like a microchip. Job done.

No need to stand on anything, just make sure you have touched metal before components. Always use hand tools.

I know how you feel,i love stickers...on ebay you can buy these special 3d ones that stick up from the case if you get what i mean. Or you can get these metal ones...all look really good.

Btw wont be opening my computer till like next monday because room is undergoing refurbishment and i want to keep the computer safe and only introduce it to my new and amazing room :p

More problems that just came into my head.
Does using the ati artefact scanner on Ati tool void my warranty?..not overlocking..just checking for problems :D
And also does the 22inch 1920 x 1080p 2ms monitor (£119) support hdmi?...thank you.
Temps for ati 5770?
I guess i shoudnt use registry cleaners?...advanced system care is so good and have been using it for so long =(

In regards to the Radeon 5770 while in the Antec 1200 case the idle temperature is 18C~ (Desktop, Aero Enabled) and the peak temperature is 33C~ (3DMark06 Canyon Flight test, 1,280 x 1,024 0xAA 16xAF). This will vary though depending on the case used and other factors.
