I was a previous customer, you are cheaper than others and you do 12 month interest free credit. The forum is just a added bonus

Kind of a hard question. Because in a way, it led me to the PC I have now. But I believe I still would have got a PC from here anywho.

I think I would have bought from you without the forum but it most certainly helped with my decision especially given the spec advise I got before I bought :) Most defintiely a great tool to have!
Plus its been good getting to know some of the PCS community :)

I completely agree.

For me it was the very competitive prices combined with the custom build system, so I voted no, although the forums did help me finalize a few details and solve a few problems, improved my general customer satisfaction that's for sure.

This pretty much sums up my position on the matter as well. Though the forum didn't directly influence my purchase, it sure as hell helped me. Honestly I think this the best PC site I've ever been to and I've recommended you to others I know, including my older sister who I think has ordered a Laptop from you. Keep up the good work guys.

Having just ordered I can say 100% that the forum played a major part in my purchase decision.

However I do not think a poll will give you an accurate view because the sort of people who wwill be influenced to purchase are those (like me) who don't really know much and need the advice of the experts. But people like me are unlikely to hang around the forums once they have their PCs (unless a problem arises) and therefore will not be refleected in your poll.

I would suggest that you could ask the question as part of the order process - ie in addition to asking where we found out about PC Specialist

Thanks

Yes for me, the forums helped a lot with my final build, plus they are a great place in general :)

No, it didn't, it was from word of mouth, since I'm not British, I struggled to find a place to get a PC from, bought my first pc in UK from pcworld, which was a pile of rubbish. I was used to a Swedish site that like this one, you picked every part yourself, only downside to that company was you were expected to put it all together yourself. So due to a British mate in WoW, I was directed here and I've never regreted it since, and will continue buying from here.

The forums did however make me feel secure in the purchase, and the help from the community here did influence me in a way that I felt like I bought a more complete and better PC, which ultimately means I'm more pleased with the outcome and more likely to buy again.

So yes and no if you know what I mean :p

No

I heard of this company from my Focus (Science & Tech mag) and I haven't had a P.C for about 2 years so I needed one... I was sick of going to places like Currys or P.C world because you get nothing for what you pay for and the customer service is rubbish.

I heard of the forums afterwards though, speaking to a lot of people I was able to amend my P.C perfectly thanks to the forums.

However, at least I know where to go if I ever need another.

A definite yes from me, the positive and negative comments throughout the forum and the way the staff handled them in a very honest manner without trying to cover up any issues impressed me the most. I nearly bought from another company but their habit of deleting adverse posts on their forum (complaining about delayed delivery with no repsonse from support for example) made me think twice. I think this forum reflects PCS very well, having spoken to the staff on the phone a couple of times, I feel happy I made the right decision to buy from PCS.
