As I said, I don't think your windows is configured yet.I went through the windows sign in routine for fingertip id. the result on the scan was ok. but it still fails.
I don't think it's setup. What do you mean by not configured yet? Not sure what you mean.
No. It's standard practice on any windows machine, no matter where you bought it, has been since the internet came along.Well other than reinstall windows and allow it to update then install drivers given to me what else I'm I supposed to do. The drivers given in the installation disk refer to my model of pc. Otherwise PC Specialist are deliberately trying to trash my pc. Is that what you are accusing them of?
What question? You still have not answered my question.
I won't be offering any more help, it's clear you're not able to follow it.Best you don't trouble yourself.
It sounds like windows isn't configured.
Can you post your full specs from the order page? Have you reinstalled windows at any time?
Pretty much nothing in the world should be installed from a CD anymore, everything on physical media will be out of date, it needs to be downloaded from the internet.
Avoid the CD!! Take it outside, burn it, snap it in 2 then put it in a car crusher!!
Seriously, though, when you reinstall Windows, it should install everything that is needed driver wise...only thing that may need installing is Control Centre (or whatever it's called on your laptop)...just log into your account on the main site and download that from there.
You can also go in to Device Manager and see if there are any checkmarks against things/..occasionally chipset drivers etc may need updating but, if it is the case, post back here and we can point you in the right direction.
CDs are useful if a system has a critical issue and needs starting again...problem is drivers on CDs are out-of-date
It sounds as if you will be better off doing that - delete all partitions and a complete new CLEAN install and allow Windows to update everything and dont touch the CDRom drivers at all just yet - as it is likely they might be out of date.
Get Windows to update as much as possible.
(Damn beaten to it again)..
Its the same with any new build though, provided with drivers to use from build of laptop, however things change with time. Its always best nowadays to just let Windows find the drivers for you and update update update etc, THEN if there are still any drivers not found, go to the manufacturer website for chipset drivers, component drivers etc.
Its like buying a new Smart phone nowadays, its packaged up and when you get it, it needs to update the OS on it as things have moved on.
That's a tad unfair, PCS only supply drivers that were current at build time. As the PC/laptop ages they become more and more outdated - especially graphics drivers. Windows Update and/or the hardware device vendor's website is the place from which to source drivers.
Windows isn't configured, that's why, did you reinstall?
You mention above that you installed drivers from the CD, was that after a windows reinstall?
LOL beat me to it @SpyderTracks
@lousmaczylo
How far / much have you completed in relation to the CLEAN install that was advised to do.
Have you ensured that Windows has run ALL the updates available and that no more Windows Updates are there?
If you have done this then this is where we turn to looking at installing chipsets / drivers from either manufacturers website OR the CD / downloads section of PCS account. HOWEVER, before you do that, please can you do the following:
1. Upload a picture of the files you have on the CD (snipping tool is a good thing to use for this sort of thing).
2. For each device manager item that have a yellow triangle, can you right click and select Properties. In the window that then comes up, select Hardware IDs from the drop down menu under the title 'Property'. Can you then take a snipping tool picture of that window and post it in your post too.
3. Look at the label on the bottom of the laptop and advise what model/chassis number it is please and if it states manufacturer at all (possibly TongFang or Clevo). If in doubt, just take a picture and add that to your post too.
This will help identify what items it is that does not have drivers.
(you may also want to just try clicking the driver tab and clicking update driver to see if it finds anything).
Hopefully we can then advise a bit further to help you sort this out.
Thanks.
I'm merely outlining the history where we've tried to offer the same advice.stop bullying
Have you tried a clean install of Windows from a USB and installed the drivers through Windows update and not the supplied CD?please do not reply I've made a complaint through Reports so please stop.
Hang on I'll Just have a look. Not great at this. here's a screen print.RE your finger print scanner, you definitely dont have any more error devices showing in device manager? Have you got anything in the 'Other devices' part of Device manager - that has little mini question marks on - if so, can you do a screen print please and also of the same properties tab you did for me on the other ones I helped with - the Device ID part.
I can check those to see if any of them relate to the finger print scanner - although it sounds like it is working but just not very good (ie it recognises you a couple of times, but not always)
