Something about Dell

So before i ordered my laptop from PCS i knew about you guys but never really thought anything of it. As in i would prefer a manufacturer name on it blah blah blah is PCS trust able.
I eventually did order from you guys and awaiting my new laptop to come. Hopefully the Friday coming up.

Now the laptop i was going to get was a M11X R3 which was around the £800 mark for what spec's i put in. (which is nothing like what i got from PCS)
Then i noticed the "XPS" so i went into that and i noticed that i could get alot better spec's from the XPS 15 that i could from the M11x R3 for the same price.
I dont understand why people do buy the Alienware laptops.
I dont actually understand why they dont just come to PCS...Look at the things you get for your money.
So what is it that Dell are actually getting from doing the Alienware range that different from the XPS
There so much more over priced and it seems that the only bonus you get is well.....Flashy lights ?
If i put the specs into an alienware that the laptop from here had.
Well i had to chose the M17x model. It turned out around from what i can remember around £1200.

but if someone is dead set on buying from Dell they should definatly get the XPS and not alienware...

Can anyone just like i don't know confirm what i think about this or even just tell me your views.
I'm just glad i did get mine from here and not dell :/

Alienware is a brand name, a bit like clothing, people will pay to say they have a alienware. Makes them sound rich and epic. The alienware laptop did use to be really good, this was before dell bought them out. Hence the owners of alienware resigned and make a new pc computer. (Its US only and cant remember name)

Just to have that brand, but now meh whats the point. When i get my laptop from here i wouldn't give two ****'s if it had nothing on it or "www.pcspecialist.co.uk"


But still, from Dell you should get the XPS over the alienware range ?
Its actually surprising how much we pay out for something with a manufacturer name on it

I do agree. Personally if i did have a alienware i would definatly make it all green. maybe purple.

Maybe PCS should do a flashy case for lappytops.

Yes but they don't cool very well! Dell laptops aren't bad, they are still built well. The alienware range is overpriced though. To be honest, I can't make the decision between alienware and xps without seeing the full specs of each. If you give me the specs I can try to comment. What laptop did you get from pcs in the end, what was the final spec?

Yeah it was i got the silver warranty and a zalman 100 also.
8GB Ram
i5 2450 2.5 Ghz
Nvidia 2gb GT540m
in the ENIGMA III.

After i spoke to you i also spoke to an online representative, i just asked if there was anything of my order out of stock becuase i would honestly like it to come for my birthday.
Then went onto the games i played and things he said BF3 on med should run 40-60 FPS. Which i was chuffed about.
Just hoping for it to come for Bday or earlier!

I have done the speccing of alienware before. I know how pricey they are. Also, just a question, are you typing on a virtual keyboard or an iPod/iPhone by any chance? And you don't have to wait for a mod to review your post anymore. Only something like your first 6 posts are moderated.

Yes, for dome reason that post didn't shoe for moderation, don't know why. It was to do with the link but I have approved it now so all is good! Ice watch vs swtor. Surely the watch was more expensive? But yeh, I guess it is the enjoyment factor that really matters. For the keyboard, just thought you were using a virtual one as you had some random returns that you often get with virtual keyboards.

There one of those retro kids watches but they look a bit smarter i guess, They brought one out for valentines so i was like, o .o U LIKE to her, she was like yeah

It did cost £90 though for a kids kinda watch, but she wanted it.

Yes, am currently browsing on an iPhone 3g the bottom part of the screen is going so I can only see a few letters and the space and return key are covered as well as the shift and a lot of the other keys so am typing blind on a keyboard that the lettering gets behind and can't keep up because my phone is too slow!

i find the auto predict is very annoying sometimes although it can be hilarious too.
My 3GS is messing up recently i researched it and i'm on the 5 software and erm well its rubbish for our phones the 3 series
What happens is, well every now and then it will restart load up stay on for 2 mins and repeat....for ever, then i have to restore it completely and wait like 2 hours for all the app's and music to go back on
previously i had a HTC Desire, what a phone amazing, no faults, could get free apps. Was amazing and no so restricting as the iPhone.
Then R.I.P the car broke down on the A52, i got out to push phone fell out and a car went straight over it. I had half a year of contract WITHOUT insurance and my last bill date is 25th of April so almost all done haha.
Moral of the story ?
Get insurance

Haha. Nah im not im not even on there too much. Facebook stirs too much do do.

Yeh, I know the feeling! You are lucky though, the 3gs has 200mhz more processing power and twice the amount of RAM Mine has, believe me, it makes a huge difference! My iPhone is jailbroken with software for whited00r. Jailbreaking gibes you so much more freedom. Whited00r is brilliant for me because apple have dropped support for the iPhone 3g so I don't get the latest software. Whited00r brings a lot of the latest software to your phone but still keeps it fast as the software is designed for models that apple has dropped support for. My phone is nearly as fast as a 3gs on ios 5. But is still a little slower than it !
