What is Eyefinity™?
Supporting multiple independent display outputs simultaneously, AMD Eyefinity™ technology delivers innovative graphics display capabilities enabling massive desktop workspaces and ultra-immersive visual environments for the ultimate panoramic computing experience.
What do I need?
To create an AMD Eyefinity™ configuration, you need to select at least one Eyefinity™ certified AMD Radeon™ graphics card, along with an Eyefinity™ "Active" Display Port to DVI Adapter (unless you have a monitor that supports Display Port). Eyefinity™ will only work when you connect to your graphics card using 1 x DVI, 1 x HDMI and 1 x Display Port, although you can use adapters to convert the HDMI to DVI if required. Therefore it is possible (using the "Active" Display Port adapter and HDMI to DVI adapter) to connect three monitors by DVI. If you wish to support up to six monitors you will need to select the 2GB Radeon™ HD5870, one mini Display Port to DVI adapter and two Display Port adapters. AMD is currently working on drivers to enable two or more AMD Radeon™ graphics cards and two Eyefinity™ "Active" Display Port to DVI Adapters to enable a 6 monitor solution in CrossfireX™ mode, but as present this is not available.
Tip
For the best Eyefinity™ experience, choose monitors that have the smallest bezel, therefore reducing the gap between each screen on your desktop. |
