Am I eligible for finance?

In order to be eligible for finance, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be in permanent paid employment (over 16 hours per week), retired and receiving a pension or self-employed.
  • Be a UK resident (minimum 3 years) and intend to remain resident in the UK.
  • Be able to provide acceptable proof of address and proof of signature.
  • Purchase the product for consumer use and not business use (business finance is available - see below).
How quickly will my finance application be processed?

If your online application is received between 9am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank & Public holidays), 9am and 6pm on Saturday, or 10am and 5pm on Sunday then in the majority of cases you will receive a decision within a matter of minutes. If you submit your application outside of these hours, then it is most likely that you will receive a response the next working day. We will send you an email to confirm the status of your application as soon as we've processed it.

If my application is approved, what happens next?

If your application is approved you will need to print-off the agreement documents, sign them and post them to our finance company. Our finance company may also request further information, such as proof of employment for example. All requested information and the signed agreement documents must be returned directly to the finance company before we can process your order.

Note: You can request a hard copy of your agreement to be posted to you if you prefer this or do not have a printer, although this will delay your application by a few days.

If my application is declined, what happens next and what are the possible reasons?

If your application is declined your deferred payment will be immediately aborted. An immediate email will be sent to your card issuer but unfortunately not all banks accept this email notification and the shadow may remain on your account for up to 1 week.

If you wish to proceed with your order by another payment method, you can do so by logging in to your account and following the options available to you.

There are various reasons why your application may have been rejected. In addition to credit scoring, other factors such as confirming your identity, validation of certain application details, existing commitments and information held at the credit reference agencies will be taken into account. Our finance company does not provide a reason for declining applications, but more often than not it is due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • Your credit score (note that every finance company will score you differently).
  • Adverse credit reference agency information.
  • You are considered to be overcommitted.
  • You are under the age of 18.
  • Your existing account performance with other lenders.
Will you credit score me and if so, what does this mean?

Credit scoring is the process used by financial services companies to evaluate the credit risk of new applicants. This technique will be applied to your application for online finance. Credit scoring works by awarding points for each answer given on the application form such as age, income and occupation, together with information obtained from credit reference agencies. This information allows finance companies to produce consistent decisions, ensuring all our applicants are treated fairly.

Can I find out my credit score online?

There are several online companies who for a small fee can provide you with an online credit score. For example: Experian.co.uk

I have sent my application to the finance company, but my order has not yet been processed?

Allow 2-3 business days for the documents to arrive. If you have not heard anything after this check with our finance company to see if the application has been received and to find out if any further information is required. The communication system between PC Specialist and our finance company is automated. As soon as they have accepted the documentation, your order will be processed and you will receive a confirmation email.

I have changed my mind and no longer wish to proceed with an order by finance.

Contact us by email on enquiries@pcspecialist.co.uk or phone 0333 011 7000 so that we can cancel your order, your finance application and refund your deposit. Do not contact our finance company - we will do this on your behalf. If your order has been built or tested, charges may be incurred as per 6.7 of our Terms and Conditions. Should you abort your order by not sending in your Finance Agreement, we will have no way of knowing that this is the case and will not refund your deposit.




I have received my computer. How do I know who to pay?

Once your order has been dispatched you will receive your documents from the finance company. These documents will confirm the terms of the finance and when payment is due. Payment should always be made to the finance company. PC Specialist Ltd only receives payment of your initial deposit.

Note: If you have taken out a "Buy Now Pay Later" finance option and wish to settle the outstanding balance early in order to avoid rolling over to the interest bearing repayments, you must pay off the whole balance in one go. You cannot settle "bit by bit".
