    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Voltage Warnings

Hi folks, I installed a new PSU over the weekend - Corsair RM850i. The TX650 had developed really bad coil whine (it's 8 years old so not surprising). I've installed the 850 with a view to moving it to my new build in the future. Anyway, since I installed it, AI Suite II has been reporting...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Under desk PC mount?

Hi folks, Does anyone do this already? I would like to make room on my desk. I've been looking on Amazon and there are a variety of types. The cheapest seems to be a strap-type mount - but it seems that there isn't much room for adjustment if the width of the case changes in future - which it...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST PC Randomly Shuts down then won't turn back on

Hi all, hope you are well! My PC has randomly started shutting down with no warning, no blue screen, just complete loss of power. Then when I press the power button it won't turn back on. If I turn off the PSU at the rear switch and then back on again, it powers back on. Sometimes just for a...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Anyone posted a PC before?!

Hi all, I'm upping sticks and moving to Australia in September. I'd like to take my PC with me if I could as I use it for video editing although not sure how to go about it - has anyone had experience with this? Would it be better to dismantle it and package the components individually? or...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Fan Controller Software

Hello! Long time no post. All well are we? My PC has been a bit noisy lately since I upgraded to W10. I used to use AI Suite - will that still work with Windows 10 and my motherboard? I seem to recall it didn't and that's why I haven't installed it yet. ANYWAY. Just wondering what software...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Can't sign into Steam :(

I just get the "Steam is having trouble connecting to the steam servers" message. I'm on W10. Connected via TP Link home plugs (but also wouldn't work with WiFi). I've checked Windows firewall has Steam as an exception, it does. Any ideas? Thank you :)

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Thunderbolt 3 motherboards

Sorry I'm a little out of touch with the PC world recently! Are these released yet? I'm looking for an interface fast enough to edit 4k footage with, so Thunderbolt 3 seems ideal. I think Thunderbolt 2 is also fast enough, but I'm always keen to future proof!

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST 4TB disk - can only partition half?

Hello everyone! I took apart a 4TB external backup drive and stuck it in my rig. In Disk Management the disk reads as "3726.02GB". There are two unallocated partitions. One is 2048Gb the other is 1678.02GB. If I right click on the 2048 partition I can create a 'new simple volume'. If I right...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Advice: HDD monitoring/alert software

Hello! I need to monitor about 200+ machines for HDD failures. I've had a large number fail in recent months (dodgy batch, going back to manufacturer) and I'd like to try and catch failures before they occur. The most important requirement is it must be able to automatically send alerts via...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST PC restarting at random & switching on at random

For a while now (I haven't had time to do anything about it, but I would say a few months) my PC has been randomly booting up/powering on at random times of the day, sometimes in the middle of the night. It also randomly (and suddenly) restarts whilst doing nothing in particular, such as...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Places to go in Iceland?

Finish my last treatment on the 23rd April (woohoo!). I want to go away for a week on my own late June/early July and I'm thinking Iceland. Has anyone ever been? I intend on taking my film camera and drone so ideally I would like relatively remote areas with stunning scenery that I can fly...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST I bring news!

A few of you may recall I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease a few months before Christmas, a relatively rare type of blood cancer - yet one of the most common in young people (I'm 25). Please take this moment to check your neck/armpit/groin for lumps. Anyway, today I got my mid treatment...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST uPoo - Join the movement.

So with me being ill and off work for so long I have a lot of free time. Needless to say I got bored pretty quick. I had an idea for a mobile app - but have no idea how to make one. So I used this site that I guess kind of works like a 'Kickstarter'. It would be great if you could support it :)...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST RAID 5 external Thunderbolt drives

As my videography work takes off I need a more secure solution to keep my data safe from drive failures. Does anybody have any good recommendations? I'm looking for a good few 6-8TB. My motherboard is Thunderbolt capable :)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Will PCS sell individual components?

I'd like to purchase a new processor - and as a result a new motherboard - in order to cope with 4k video editing. The upgrade page doesn't offer these (for obvious reasons I imagine). I'm happy to fit everything myself, of course. My budget is about £750 but I'd be interested to see if PCS can...
