Hey y'all.
My laptop's gpu recently crapped out and now only runs on the integrated graphics. Rather than paying £350 to replace the gpu, Imma try and sell the laptop. Doesn't really make sense to shell out that amount of money for a gpu that was beginning to become a bottleneck for me anyway...
Hey all, I'm having a couple of issues with Bioshock Infinite ... hoping you can help.
1) Steam Overlay isn't functioning for some reason. Tested another game and it's working.
2) I'm getting some screen tearing, but I couldn't see an option in the settings to enable vsync. Is there a way to...
I'm wondering if you guys know of any programs that will overlay fps and cpu temps while gaming and preferably allow you to change the positioning and font of the overlay?
I'm curious to know if it actually speeds up the load times much before I go through the hassle of putting it on my SSD. I have a feeling the load times are mainly the time it's taking to connect to servers and thus having it on my SSD will be of little benefit... but what do I know.
I'm getting temps of 55-70 while browsing/streaming hd vids and when I'm gaming I'm reaching 90 (would probably reach higher, but I put it to sleep at that point):sweatdrop: . It used to run at 45-50 for the most part and then max out at around 75 under intense gaming. I always have my laptop on...
I was playing Borderlands for the 1st time last night and the framerate was constantly dropping between 60 and 45. I tried playing around with the settings as you do and even turned everything to low, but nothing helped it. I then figured it may be a lag issue, so I went to single player and...
I'm usually not that bothered if my games are linked to steam, but I'd really like the achievements for this as I imagine they'll be fun to go after. I also want a physical copy of the artbook though, so I'm unable to purchase it directly from Steam. Do you guys know if there are any retailers...
Hi, would it be possible to transfer the OS to the SSD without erasing everything on my current hard drive? I have a lot of games downloaded and it would be a huge pain in the ass having to download them all again, considering I need to do it after 11pm because that's when I get free downloads.
I just had an ad pop up on Steam for pre-purchasing Dark Souls. This is a game I do plan on getting, but what is the point in 'pre-purchasing' it? Are they inferring that it'll cost more to buy when it's actually released, or something?
I disabled it earlier in the Volume Control Options and now I want to re-enable it, but I can't find it anywhere. I tried unplugging the HDMI cable and rebooting my laptop to see if it would automatically enable itself again, but it hasn't worked. This is driving me nuts  Please help me out.
I find myself checking for updates on my order like every 5 minutes (except when I'm working or sleeping). I even do it outside of PCS's working hours when I know my order isn't going to be updated, but I still feel compelled to look anyway
I was thinking of cancelling Windows 7 I ordered with my laptop and then just downloading the Windows 8 preview. Would I even be able to download it without an OS?
Hey, originally I was going to purchase the Skyfire, but I didn't have enough money when it was in stock and I decided it looked a little too bulky for me anyway, so now I'm looking at the Vortex II. I'll be using this laptop for gaming, video editing, watching movies, excel work and general...
I need it to obviously be good at dispensing heat, but also quiet and comfortable for sitting on my lap.
oops just realised I posted this in the tech support forum, sorry!
I've read on this forum somewhere that there isn't much difference between the 2.2 and the 2.4 so I was just going to go with the 2.2, but then I see GTA IV's recommended cpu requirement is 2.4 ghz quad core. I'm looking to cut back on my spending wherever possible, but I'd really like to be...
PC Specialist only appear to offer 1 month free month insurance, so I was wondering if you guys could recommend somewhere else I could use to insure my laptop once I purchase it. I'll be wanting to cover it for 3 years from theft and accidental damage and it would be great if I was still covered...
What do you think to these specs? I'm trying to stay under £1000. Should I spend more on the CPU and opt for a lower budget GPU or is it fine as it is? Any input would be appreciated because I'm not very tech savvy.
